EastEnders reveals major new threat for Reiss in early iPlayer release

Teddy has a plan.

EastEnders spoilers follow for Tuesday’s episode (September 17), which is available to watch now on streaming service BBC iPlayer and hasn’t yet aired on TV.

EastEnders has revealed a major new threat for Reiss Colwell in the show’s latest episode.

Back in July, Reiss was struggling with his finances and, feeling out of options, he killed his wife Debbie in her care home.

However, Sonia has since been charged with Debbie’s murder, even though she has no idea about what Reiss has done.

Reiss has also recently struck a deal with Teddy, who agreed to take on his debt to Phil, in exchange for Reiss doing some dodgy accountancy work for him.

This week, as part of their deal Teddy ordered Reiss to do some work on his books and fiddle the numbers to hide his wealth.

In today’s episode, Reiss continued to run a campaign to get Sonia out of prison, but the Square’s residents were reluctant to get involved.

Teddy called round for an update, and he wasn’t pleased to see that Reiss hadn’t yet touched his books.

Teddy explained that his ex’s solicitor is keen to see his books, so he gave Reiss a strict deadline of tomorrow.

Seeing Reiss was struggling with Sonia in prison, Teddy said that he knew someone who could help him get her released – if he met the deadline.

He also offered to give Reiss the £2,000 to pay back Eve for the engagement ring, and Reiss eventually agreed to sorting his books.

But while Reiss assumed that Teddy’s contact is a lawyer, Teddy then revealed that the contact is actually a private investigator.

Teddy promised that his contact would be able to source any footage from the care home on the day of Debbie’s death and find any missing evidence.

“He’ll find out who really killed your ex,” he said. “And your Sonia is coming home, mate.”

Reiss was left terrified, realising that his quest to get Sonia released from prison may end up putting himself at risk.

Will Reiss finally be caught?

EastEnders airs on Mondays – Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
