EastEnders Nish ‘is still alive’ after fall as fans ‘work out’ real identity of dead body

EastEnders villain Nish Panesar was killed off this week after his reign of terror – but some fans are convinced the baddie isn’t actually dead

EastEnders fans have cooked up a theory that Nish Panesar might still be knocking about.

The sly character, portrayed by Navin Chowdhry, supposedly met his maker this week, ending his vendetta-fueled antics. Nish has been on the warpath wanting vengeance against Suki (acted by Balvinder Sopal) and her lover Eve (Heather Peace), ever since he got wind of their romantic entanglements.

Having busted out of the slammer last month, Nish has been skulking in the shadows, biding his time until the perfect moment to strike on Suki and Eve’s nuptials day. But Wednesdays episode, which aired New Years Day, saw chaos breaking loose.

Once the lovebirds had said ‘I do’, viewers watched in horror as Eve keeled over in the bridal suite after guzzling some bubbly spiked by Nish! The scoundrel himself then barged in to confess the vile deed to a devastated Suki, reports the Manchester Evening News.

Nish gloated: “She’s gone now, and there’s nothing you can do,” while pouring two more tainted tipples – one for each of them. The subsequent scrap had Nish attempting to sway Suki to join him in a twisted romantic demise.

The drama peaked when they struggled their way to the balcony, just as Ravi (played by Aaron Thiara) turned up. A face-off between Ravi and the dastardly Nish culminated in Nish toppling over the edge and taking Suki with him.

Come Thursdays follow-up (January 2), viewers were left biting their nails as ambulances rocked up and took Suki and Eve to the hospital amidst murmurings that Nish copped it worse in the fall, possibly sparing Suki’s life in the process.

In the hospital, the dramatic turn of events revealed Eve’s miraculous survival after a harrowing situation. She dashed to Suki’s side, urging her to battle through and awaken. And in truly heart-wrenching scenes, Suki did just that, opening her eyes and weeping with Eve as they realised the tyrant Nish was gone.

But some soap fans reckon this isn’t the last we’ve heard of the villain. A fan speculated on an EastEnders Facebook group, saying: “He’s not dead.” The comment opened floodgates of theories, with another fan adding their two pence: “What if he hired a lookalike to go up there.”

Another fan cooked up a twisty prediction of a secret twin and posted: “Or maybe a secret long-lost twin? ” The theory sparked agreement on the thread, with one person remarking: “I still don’t think it’s over so I can see this happening ngl.”

EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer
