EastEnders legend Lorraine Stanley, who is best known for playing Karen Taylor in the BBC soap, has lost an impressive five stone and has shown off her slim figure
Former EastEnders star Lorraine Stanley, better known as the much-loved Karen Taylor, has shown off her incredible five-stone weight loss transformation. The 48 year old, who graced Albert Square from 2017 until 2024, has been busy with a new fitness regime and healthy lifestyle as she proudly shows off her slim figure.
Taking to Instagram in a fresh update following her weight loss journey, Lorraine looked sensational as she glammed up for an evening out in support of a mental health charity. In the snaps alongside her nephew, posted this week, the actress donned a full-length black ball gown with draped short sleeves and a cinched-in waist.
One photo showed Lorraine posing in a mirror selfie, sharing a closer glimpse of her slim frame after dropping five stone. Fans were quick to compliment Lorraine and flooded the comments.
One wrote: “Your looking Fabulous Lorraine, you have lost weight.” A second penned: “You look amazing!!”, as another said: “Looking fantastic Loraine.”
“You look amazing girl! x,” a fourth shared. Another added: “Your looking amazing Lorraine xx,” while one asked: “Lorraine your looking absolutely amazing. great actor love your character. could I ask you, how did you lose weight ? I need to do this and you look great?”
Shortly after leaving EastEnders earlier this year, Lorraine revealed in March that she had been on a new fitness and health journey. Sharing before and after photos of her impressive transformation, she wrote: “What a difference a year makes. Five stone down, feeling good, clean living, healthy choices, new me, healthy mum, #fitat40, #healthy, #moderation, @louiseappelpt thank you! for your inspiration.”
Lorraine’s character Karen left EastEnders back in January, following her on-screen son Keanu Taylor’s murder at the hands of the Walford Six on Christmas Day 2023. Following the murder, Keanu’s death was covered up, with his loved ones, including his mum and sister, believing he had gone on the run after discovering Sharon Watts’ son Albie wasn’t actually his.
The news came as a particular blow to Keanu, as he had previously risked imprisonment after he staged a kidnap of the youngster to try and stop Sharon from taking Albie to live abroad. Taking the blame for the kidnap, Karen left Walford for good while remaining none the wiser about her son’s true fate.
Speaking with The Sun, Lorraine shared her views on leaving the soap, stating while it was a sad decision she was eager to see what other opportunities arise, “You can get a bit relaxed there and a bit comfortable,” she admitted. However, she hoped that fans would remember her character, Karen, as “the best mum on the Square” with a “heart of gold”.
