Linda Carter has been left fighting for her life after she devoured a bottle of vodka following her poison pen letters turmoil stating that an unknown person knows she killed Keanu
EastEnders has aired a devastating twist for Linda Carter (played by Kellie Bright) leaving viewers ‘worried’ that she is going to die.
Over the past week, struggling Linda has been disturbed by threatening letters and text messages that are being anonymously sent by Bernie Taylor (Clair Norris), who is working with Dean Wicks (Matt Di Angelo).
During the latest visit to Albert Square (August 13), which is available to stream early on iPlayer, Johnny Carter (Charlie Suff) was left annoyed after finding his mum Linda asleep in the kitchen after drinking heavily all night. While Johnny demanded she take a shower before her two youngest kids woke up, she berated him for not letting her take Fraser’s deal to ultimately withdraw her statement against Dean.
While in The Vic, Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) shared her concerns with Johnny about the case potentially reopening but the pair failed to realise Bernie overheard.
Johnny opened up to Gina Knight (Francesca Henry) about Linda’s drinking and she reminded him that there is only so much he can do. He also shared his fears that she will end up dead if she doesn’t stop.
Gina agreed to keep an eye on Linda while Johnny went to persuade the prosecutor to put his mum back on the case.
A grateful Linda joined Gina to work in the kitchen but as they prepared lunch together they were interrupted by Bernie who demanded a chat with Linda alone.
Wanting to talk about Keanu’s death again, Bernie pulled out a bottle of vodka in front of Linda, who looked mortified but didn’t refuse a glass.
While Gina was distracted, Bernie continued to pour Linda alcohol and put pressure on her to tell the truth about her brother’s death.
Johnny returned and was furious that Gina had allowed Linda to drink while Linda took the vodka bottle upstairs with her to carry on drinking.
Worried Johnny tried to convince his mum to go to rehab so she was well enough to take the stand at Dean’s trial, but she refused.
Linda blamed him for her being taken off the case in the first place and giving her alcohol in the meeting, which tipped Johnny over the edge.
During a blazing row, Johnny said he wished Linda had died instead of his dad Mick Carter (Danny Dyer), before storming out.
As Linda continued to drink heavily in her room, Sharon gave Johnny some words of wisdom in the pub.
Johnny returned upstairs to check on Linda and was horrified to discover that his mum was on her bed unconscious, choking on her vomit.
Gina pleaded with Johnny to call an ambulance, but will Linda make it? Some EastEnders fans are convinced Linda will not pull through her ordeal and will meet a tragic end.
Taking to X, one viewer wrote: “I’m sorry but the amount of alcohol Linda has drank over time she would be yellow or worse dead… #EastEnders.”
A second stated: “The fact that the massive argument Linda and Johnny had today might be their last ever conversation #EastEnders.”
While a third simply added: “Linda noooo #EastEnders.”
“Just watched tonight’s Duff Duff – I’m absolutely devastated. Please don’t let anything bad happen to Linda. #EastEnders”, urged another.
EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday at 7:30pm on BBC One and iPlayer
