EastEnders star Jamie Borthwick revealed the reason why he will “never ever” do I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! and it’s not why fans would think
EastEnders star Jamie Borthwick has lifted the lid on why he will “never” do I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!
When speaking exclusively to Daily Star at the Pride of Britain Awards about what other TV projects he’d like to do, Jamie revealed the ITV show that was definitely not on his hit list.
Jamie, 30, said: “For the minute, I’m in a good place with EastEnders and Strictly. I definitely do not want to do I’m A Celebrity, I would not do that show for all the money in the world.
“Don’t ever offer it to me, I won’t ever do it. I don’t even want to go to Australia – I just don’t want to sit on a plane for 24 hours, I don’t like being away from home. The jungle is not for me. Never, ever.
He graced the red carpet with his Strictly Come Dancing pro partner Michelle Tsiakkas, 29, who also added: “For those of you who don’t know, Jamie does not like change.” Michelle also accused him of “lying” about his love life on the night.
When asked if being a famous BBC actor gained him a lot of attention over the years, Jamie claimed it hadn’t. But Michelle chimed in to say: “He’s lying…”
Before Jamie added: “No, honestly not really, I can’t believe it either, I get some messages but I don’t really read them. Being on EastEnders hasn’t really helped or hindered it [his love life] to be fair. I’m usually too busy playing snooker.”
As the Strictly romance rumours always circulate, we took the time to ask if any romance could ever blossom between the two of them. Jamie, 30, responded: “When you’re with someone eight hours a day you just naturally build a rapport and you just learn about each other. They tried to do the romance thing with us but I very firmly put it to bed. She is like my sister, it would be very weird.”
Michelle also added: “We do have amazing chemistry but he’s like my brother. Chemistry is something you have or you don’t. You either find it really easy to talk and be around someone or you don’t. I’m very straight with him, he’s straight with me.”
