EastEnders’ Linda Carter received a menacing letter with viewers ‘working out’ who exactly sent it – and it’s someone that lives with her
EastEnders fans have ‘worked out’ who sent Linda Carter the harrowing letter.
Linda (Kellie Bright) has been struggling ever since Christmas when she murdered Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters). As fans will recall, in a bid to stop Keanu from killing Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) Linda stepped in and stabbed him.
Even though Keanu was no longer a physical threat, his death wasn’t the end of their torment. The rest of The Six – Kathy Beale, Suki Panesar, Denise Fox and Stacey Slater – then helped cover up the murder by dumping Keanu’s body in the Bridge Street Café.
In typical soap fashion though, his body was eventually discovered under the floorboards. However, the ladies managed to get away with the crime as they framed Linda’s rapist Dean Wicks (Matt Di Angelo) for Keanu’s murder.
Over in the soap this week though, Linda, who has back on the bottle, was left shaken after an associate of Dean, Fraser, ambushed her and proposed to her with a deal. Dean would confess to raping Linda in exchange for her withdrawing her statement implicating him in Keanu’s murder.
And in shock twist, Linda agreed to the deal – much to the horror of The Six. During Wednesday’s episode (August 7) Linda went to meet with Dean’s associate to sign the statement in return for Dean’s confession.
However, before they could finalise any deal, Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) arrived with the police and arrested Fraser for blackmail. Linda was furious – especially when she found out son Johnny Carter (Charlie Suff) told the cops about Fraser, to stop her from withdrawing her statement.
Later on, Linda started closing up the Vic before going to bed. Suddenly, she noticed a white envelope with her name on it on the table.
Opening it, Linda was horrified. The note read: “I know what you did at Christmas. Liar!” Fans were sent into a frenzy – with plenty sharing their thoughts on who could be behind the letter.
Rushing to social media, viewers reckon Johnny wrote the letter in a bid to “sober his mum up.” On an EastEnders Facebook fan page, one person said: “Any ideas who sent Linda that note? I’m going with Johnny!”
“It’s gonna be someone close. I reckon Johnny. I hope it isn’t her son, but maybe he’s done it to try make her sober up,” said someone else.
A third penned: “I think it’s Johnny or Jack make her crack before the trial so she’s not fit to give evidence in court.”
