EastEnders fans are convinced that Mick Carter will be making a return to Walford following Linda’s tragic alcoholism storyline.
EastEnders enthusiasts are speculating that Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) might be poised for a dramatic comeback after Linda’s (Kellie Bright) heartrending struggle.
Thursday night’s episode (December 12) left viewers distraught as Linda’s fight with alcoholism took centre stage. In poignant scenes, it became painfully clear to fans that Linda desperately needed help, particularly during a touching interaction with Elaine (Harriet Thorpe), who tenderly bathed her.
Despite Elaine’s candid revelations and kind counsel, Linda turned a deaf ear and later reached for the bottle. Witnessing Linda’s descent into chaos again, many believe her former spouse, Mick, could be her only salvation.
Fans flocked to X to voice their thoughts on Linda’s downward spiral. One viewer implored: “Bring Mick back for Linda, and hopefully, she’ll beat her addiction,” reports the Manchester Evening News. Another chimed in: “So, in the next episode, Mick will return to save Linda.”
A third speculated: “I honestly believe there’ll be a ” Christmas Carol” type of episode where Linda is faced with the consequences if she doesn’t stop drinking. The leaked ‘funeral pictures’ will all be a figment of her subconscious, and Mick will be back in ghost form.”
Another pleaded, “Oh Mick, please come back and save your EL before it’s too late. Both Linda and Phil are breaking my heart.”

Once considered Albert Square’s golden duo, Mick and Linda’s relationship had weathered numerous storms. Mick and Linda Carter’s whirlwind romance officially came crashing down in 2022, with Mick tying the knot with EastEnders’ infamous schemer, Janine Butcher (Charlie Brooks), in December that same year.
Janine’s cunning nature soon emerged, throwing their marital bliss into turmoil before they could even settle in.
In a dire twist of fate during December’s Christmas episode, Mick desperately attempted to rescue his ex-wife Linda from a perilous situation in the English Channel, but instead saved Janine. Tragically, Mick wasn’t able to save himself.

Eagle-eyed viewers were left biting their nails as the beloved character disappeared beneath the waves. Since that jaw-dropping moment, fan theories have swirled, with many believing Mick met a watery end, though his body has yet to be discovered.
Upon exiting the renowned BBC soap, the actor expressed mixed feelings about his tenure on Albert Square: “I was blessed with some amazing storylines, some s**te ones as well.
“They f***ed it up towards the end. It’s a shame it had to come to an end, but I’d f***ing had enough.”
