EastEnders fans point out glaring blunder that would put Linda Carter out of her misery

Linda Carter is currently being terrorised by poison pen letters as Dean Wicks piles on the pressure to get the landlady to withdraw her statement against him for Keanu’s murder

EastEnders fans have been asking the same question as Linda Carter continues to receive poison pen letters – why doesn’t The Queen Vic have CCTV?

As fans of the BBC One soap will know, the pub landlady killed Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) on Christmas Day 2023 in the culmination of The Six storyline. In March, the walls began to close in after the discovery of Keanu’s body under the café floor, which saw Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) get arrested in the aftermath.

But Linda told the police she saw Dean Wicks (Matt Di Angelo) at the café that night dragging something along the floor, leading to his arrest. Last week, alcoholic Linda (Kellie Bright) was on edge after receiving an anonymous letter that suggested someone else knows she killed the mechanic.

On Thursday (August 8) Dean, who is in prison for the murder, is later visited by the mystery blackmailer, who is revealed to be Bernie Taylor (Clair Norris). Determined to uncover what happened to her brother, Bernie teamed up with Dean to get the truth out of Linda.

As the letters are now sending Linda over the edge, some viewers have been asking why she doesn’t check CCTV at The Vic which would reveal Bernie as her blackmailer.

Taking to X, one viewer asked: “Have they thought about checking CCTV in the pub to see who is leaving Linda Carter notes? #eastenders.”

A second exclaimed: “The Queen Vic, in EastEnders THE ONLY PUB IN LONDON THAT DOESN’T HAVE CCTV!!!!!!! Ridiculous programme.”

A third chimed in: “Makes me laugh how there’s zero CCTV in the Vic #EastEnders”, while another echoed: “How comes the pub doesn’t have CCTV?? #Eastenders.”

“Simple CCTV in the pub which they’ve NEVER had would solve this lol #EastEnders”, suggested another viewer.

EastEnders airs Monday – Thursday at 7:30pm on BBC One and iPlayer
