Reiss was crushed by a bathtun following the explosion at the Queen Vic last month.

EastEnders fans have branded a character their ‘favourite person ever’ after a hilarious moment occured after Reiss Colwell’s funeral on Thursday night (March 13).

Introduced to the soap in 2022, the great-nephew of Dot Branning has been the show’s main villain for a number of months as he framed his pregnant wife Sonia for the murder of his ex-wife Debbie, before kidnapping and holding hostage her sister Bianca.

In a death that linked back to his wife Debbie, who he initially said drowned in the bath before framing his ex-fiancé Sonia Jackson for her murder, Reiss was crushed by a bathtun following the explosion at the Queen Vic last month.

Prior to causing the explosion that killed him and Martin Fowler, Reiss had been keeping Sonia’s sister Bianca Jackson captive in a storage unit for several months.

Following his death, Bianca has been suffering from PTSD due to Reiss’ actions. While Sonia has been getting to grips with being a mum again to her daugther Julia, whose father is Reiss.

After debating with Bianca for the past week if she should attend his funeral, Sonia made the brave decision to give herslf closure and attend the service.

Attempting to cheer her sister up, Bianca suggested they hold some celebratory drinks, only for Sonia to say no due to recent passing of her ex-husband Martin.

With Bianca deciding to hold a baby shower in wine bar Harry’s Barn to get Sonia out of the house, the sisters headed out with some of their friends, while Lauren Branning stayed at home to look after Julia.

Things got heated when Nicola Mitchell could be heard suggesting that Sonia knew Reiss killed Debbie, leading to Sonia saying Reiss tricked everyone and revealed that Martin let her use his Fowler surname for her baby.

“She’s gonna grow up knowing all the love and support she would have got from Martin – blood or not,” she triumphantly told Nicola.

Rejecting the Harry Barn’s owner’s offer of free drinks to make up for her comment, Bianca and Sonia returned home, only for Bianca to vomit into Reiss’ tuba. Rather than get mad at her sister, Sonia burst into a fit of laugther as she looks to put this dark chapter of her life to rest.

Those watching at home rushed to X, previously known as Twitter, to have their say on the moment and express their sadness that the sisters will be leaving Albert Square soon.

EastEnders stars Natalie Cassidy and Patsy Palmer are both leaving EastEnders in the coming weeks after confirming their exits at the beginning of the year. It’s believed the Jackson sisters will say goodbye to Albert Square following Martin’s funeral in several weeks time.
