EastEnders family torn apart as shocking truth revealed on Christmas Day

Albert Square is never a quiet place to be at Christmas, and this year won’t be a merry time one family as a huge secret is set to be exposed and ruin the big day

EastEnders is set for another explosive Christmas as a huge bombshell is set to tear one family apart, the BBC has confirmed.

Over the years, the BBC one soap has become a huge part of the festive season – nothing marks Christmas like murder, affairs, divorce and showdowns.

The Six dominated the festivities last year when Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) was stabbed to death by Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) in The Queen Vic.

The explosive episode was watched by millions of EastEnders fans who witnessed the furious mechanic trying to strangle Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) when Linda plunged a meat thermometer into his back, killing Keanu in seconds.

So Christmas 2024 is already in the minds of soap fans as they wonder what drama will arrive in the Square on Christmas Day. On Tuesday (November 26), the BBC teased forthcoming events as it confirmed the Beale family will be at the centre of a huge storyline this Christmas.

As fans will know, Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) has been having an affair with Junior Knight (Micah Balfour), and the truth is set to be exposed.

“Secrets and lies are set to throw a wrecking ball into the Beale family festivities this year as the shocking truth about Cindy is revealed in spectacular fashion in EastEnderson Christmas Day,” the BBC confirmed.

Cindy’s affair with Junior began earlier this year, before she ended it following her engagement to ex-husband Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt). Cindy wanted to ‘play it safe’ and build a future with Ian and their kids.

But when David Wicks (Michael French) made a brief return to the Square, he caught Cindy and Junior kissing down the side of The Vic, much to his amusement.

In a twist, Cindy confessed to ex-lover David, she’s still in love with Junior’s father, George Knight (Colin Salmon), and that she imagines she’s with George when she’s with Junior.

Meanwhile, lovestruck Junior, who was dumped by his wife earlier this year, told George that he’s in love with a woman who’s already taken, but doesn’t tell him who she is.

Junior is also the half-brother to Cindy’s daughters Anna (Molly Rainford) and Gina Knight (Francesca Henry).

How will Cindy’s latest betrayal be exposed to the Beales this Christmas Day? How will the Beales and the Knights take the shock news? Only time will tell.
