EastEnders dead body horror as Suki Panesar reels

Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal) was left reeling in recent EastEnders scenes when she found out where her engagement ring had really come from.

Eve Unwin (Heather Peace) proposed to Suki last week with an engagement ring she bought from Reiss Colwell (Jonny Freeman), which he had pulled off wife Debbie’s finger after murdering her.

Unfortunately, things didn’t go to plan for Eve, who was left humiliated when Suki wouldn’t give her an answer.

However, Suki later had a change of heart and proposed to Eve herself, which she gladly accepted.

In tonight’s episode, Sonia Fowler (Natalie Cassidy) approached the happy couple at the bap van to congratulate them, before asking to see Suki’s ring.

Eve, who had been warned by Reiss to tell Suki that the ring was from a pawn shop, was shifty as Suki proudly showed it off, boasting about how it was good for a pawn shop ring.

Sonia instantly recognised the ring and shuffled off to find Reiss. She revealed what she had seen and pointed out that the people who mugged him must have sold the ring to the pawn shop, and that they’d be able to find out who it was through the CCTV.

It was then that Reiss was forced to admit that he had sold the ring to Eve himself, in a bid to tackle his debt to Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden).

Sonia insisted that selling the ring wasn’t the way to pay Phil off, and the pair decided to try and get it back from Suki and Eve.

When Sonia revealed that she knew Eve hadn’t bought the ring from a pawn shop, Suki was confused, until Eve revealed Reiss’ instructions not to tell anyone the truth.

As Sonia explained the sentimental value of the ring, Eve encouraged Suki to give it back, but Suki refused, insisting that Eve had paid for it.

However, when Sonia revealed that Reiss had prised it from Debbie’s finger after she had died, Suki couldn’t get the ring off quick enough.

As she handed it over, she told Eve that she wanted a new ring that hadn’t belonged to a dead person.

Eve was quick to point out that she had spent her last savings on the ring, and Sonia and Reiss promised she’d get her money back – but with all of their debts, how soon will that be?
