EastEnders cast photo reveals who survives 40th anniversary stunt amid death fears

A new photo taken in-between filming on EastEnders, featuring members of the cast, has seemingly confirmed some characters that will survive explosive scenes next month amid death fears

There’s shocking and show-changing scenes on the way on EastEnders, it’s been teased, with fans convinced there will be at least one death.

Now, a new cast photo shared online could well give away the fates of five different characters. At least two of the cast members in the snap will take centre stage during the big 40th anniversary week next month.

The soap is gearing up for a live episode, with it also reported a devastating fire will destroy The Queen Vic. There’s a wedding, a whodunnit reveal and at least one huge return, and soap boss Chris Clenshaw has promised scenes that will see Walford “changed forever”.

With the cast having filmed it all minus the live episode, it’s very likely that anything they are filming now onwards will be for after the big week. This means that a cast snap shared on EastEnders’ Instagram has likely shown five characters who leave the week possibly unscathed.

Five cast members were pictured in the Square together, all smiles as they took a break from shooting. So with this likely to be post-anniversary week, does this prove all five characters live to tell the tale?

In the photo are Honey Mitchell star Emma Barton, Billy Mitchell actor Perry Fenwick, Yolande Trueman star Angela Wynter, Sharon Watts actress Letitia Dean and Callum Highway star Tony Clay. It’s likely most if not all of these cast members will feature in the big episodes ahead, with it being Honey and Billy’s wedding.

So is it safe to assume all five stars of the BBC soap are safe from leaving for good? Have they all survived the big week? Viewers certainly believe so, with one fan commenting: “Honey and Billy have both seemingly survived the fire despite their wedding”.

Chris Clenshaw recently teased what was ahead, revealing: “I can’t say too much, but it’s explosive. Apart from the live episode, we’ve pretty much shot most of it. It’s looking brilliant. Expect everything!” This could mean the cast still have some big scenes ahead, so nobody is safe just yet!

He added: “Whilst we’re still keeping the finite details of the 40th close to our chest, I can promise that it will be an unmissable week full of shocking twists that will change Albert Square, and the lives of those who live in it, forever.”

Ian Beale star Adam Woodyatt has also teased the big episodes. He told The Mirror: “The anniversary week is bonkers. I think I can safely say for all of us, we picked up the scripts and said, ‘What the f—?!’. It was literally ‘How the hell are we going to do this?’ and we have. It is honestly brilliant.”

EastEnders airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
