Killer Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) finds herself pushed to breaking point in EastEnders next week, as blackmailer Bernie Taylor (Clair Norris) turns the screw in the hope of getting to the truth about brother Keanu Taylor’s (Danny Walters) murder.
Last week saw The Queen Vic landlady, who stabbed Keanu in the pub on Christmas Day, receive a series of threatening letters, after framing her rapist Dean Wicks (Matt Di Angelo) for murder.
Bernie was later revealed to be the sender of the mysterious letters, at the instruction of Dean, who she has been visiting in prison, convinced he is not her brother’s real killer.
In scenes to air on Monday, Linda’s pre-trial meeting is approaching, as she prepares to give evidence against Dean, but she is struggling with her sobriety as more poison pen letters arrive at The Vic.
Meanwhile, at the prison, Dean demands that Bernie ups the ante with the letters to put pressure on Linda, so she starts sending texts too.
Linda is rattled to realise whoever is sending these threats has her number and tells Johnny she’s not going to attend the meeting.
In a desperate bid to calm Linda enough to get her there, Johnny takes matters into his own hands…
Spoilers for this week’s episodes have already revealed Linda will be rushed to hospital after she is found in a life-threatening situation.
So just how far will Johnny push her? And will Linda be well enough to give her testimony?
EastEnders airs these scenes on Monday at 7.30pm on BBC One and from 6am on iPlayer.
