Following the recent crush at Peggy’s, the Brannings rally around recovering Amy Mitchell but Chelsea Fox is still consumed with guilt as the investigation into the incident takes a turn
The aftermath of the crush continues in next week EastEnders as Amy Mitchell (Ellie Dadd) is discharged from hospital, but will the truth about the disaster catch up with Chelsea Fox (Zaraah Abrahams)?
Chelsea was responsible for putting extra tickets on sale for Penny Branning’s (Kitty Castledine) event which became severely overcrowded leaving Amy and Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa) severely injured. Chelsea is still deeply concerned about the ramifications of her actions as she’s yet to confess.
In forthcoming episodes of the BBC soap, Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) receives news that the CCTV footage from the night could be restored and that the full story could come to light imminently.
The copper is also relieved to hear that Amy will be discharged from the hospital that same afternoon, but she’s struggling to cope with the physical and emotional toll of her injuries.
Denise Fox (Diane Parish) tries to reassure her and Jack that everything will be okay while nursing her guilt over concealing Chelsea’s involvement in the near tragic ordeal.
When Denise tells her that Amy is heading back, Chelsea is pleased but is cut down to size when Denise lays bare the nightmare that Jack and Amy are going through because of her actions.
Denise and Chelsea join the Branning’s at The Vic for a welcome home drink for Amy, but she finds it hard to be there as she’s so traumatised.
Chelsea gets the drinks in and showers Amy with gifts, which annoys Denise but heartens Amy.
But Jack is unable to reassure Ricky (Frankie Day) that his older sister Penny won’t end up in prison for the accident, which leaves Chelsea terrified about what may happen should the full details emerge.
Later in the week, Chelsea goes a bit too far when she tries to be there for Amy and is quickly told to leave her be so that she can have space.
Chelsea then turns to Denzel Danes (Jaden Ladega) to check on her, despite his guilt at thinking he was the reason she was at the club to begin with.
The investigation into the crush continues, and Jack reveals that the police tech team are working on the corrupted footage from Peggy’s, and they’ll soon know the true story of what happened that night.
Will Chelsea’s lie be exposed?
