Amy Mitchell (Ellie Dadds) is still struggling in the wake of the club crush in EastEnders next week, but is dealt a fresh blow that could rip her family apart.
The teenager was hospitalised after being seriously injured in the incident at Peggy’s last month.
The crush was inadvertently caused by her step-sister Chelsea Fox (Zaraah Abrahams), who made more tickets to a club night available online to sabotage Penny Branning (Kitty Castledine) for stealing her job as manager.
Penny has maintained her innocence but has been frozen out by father Jack Branning (Scott Maslen), who has blamed her for Amy’s injuries.
As the police continue their investigation into the incident next week, Jack breaks the news to Amy that the police will want to interview her about what happened that night.
Her brother Ricky Mitchell (Frankie Day) wonders whether Penny will go to prison, and Jack refuses to rule it out, meaning Amy could end up sealing her sister’s fate.
Meanwhile, a guilty Chelsea – who recently confided in her mum Denise Fox (Diane Parish) about her role in events – is privately horrified to realise the severity of the situation.
She continues to fuss around an irritated Amy, who tells her that she needs space.
However, there’s soon another update when Jack informs his family that the police tech team are working on the corrupted footage of the crush, and they’ll soon know the true story of what happened that night…
EastEnders airs these scenes from Wednesday 11 September at 7.30pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
