Danielle Harold breaks silence on Lola Pearce being mentioned in EastEnders after exit

Danielle Harold has broken her silence on character Lola Pearce still being mentioned on hit soap EastEnders a year on from her exit when she succumbed to a brain tumour on screen

Danielle Harold has opened up about her EastEnders character Lola Pearce still being mentioned on the BBC soap after her shock exit.

Her time on the hit BBC soap came to an abrupt end last year as her character Lola died after suffering with a brain tumour having spent 13 years on the show.

Despite her character’s absence from the show for the past year, the love from fans and indeed characters on the show can still be seen with Danielle’s name still getting a frequent mention.

Speaking to the TV Times about her characters enduring popularity, Danielle said: “I know, people keep telling me about it! It’s really lovely – the response has been so strong for such a long time after the story aired, which has been really nice. I can’t believe it’s been a year it’s gone super-fast, but I’ve just had the best time, and I’ve been so lucky to some amazing and fun things.”

Lola Pearce suffered a tragic end to her time on the show last year after succumbing to cancer.

Speaking to the Daily Star about her exit from the show, Danielle said said she looked forward to the future. She said: “I want to work on other things and play other characters. I can’t wait to get out there and see what’s possible.

“I’d love to do a drama – something with a beginning, middle and an end to the story. I want to do something completely different to soaps.”

But now, the actress has turned her attentions to Celebrity Masterchef we she puts her cooking skills the test in a bid to be crowned victorious against her famous rivals.

Featuring alongside Danielle in week two in this years BBC show is; Line of Duty actor Rochenda Sandail, Gladiators’ Harry Aikines-Aryeetey, reality star Chloe Burrows and Sex Education star and comedian Eshaan Akbar.
