Corrie’s David destroys Max and Lauren’s plan as the killer truth is exposed?

David Platt (Jack P. Shepherd) threatens to blow apart stepson Max Turner’s (Paddy Bever) plan to take the fall for Joel Deering’s (Calum Lill) murder in Coronation Street next week.

On Friday, a jaw-dropping special episode revealed that Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) killed her abuser in a shock twist.

Fans saw how Joel had tried to strangle Max on the bridge before Lauren hit him with a rock to try and save her friend.

With the blow proving fatal, Lauren and Max then worked together to dump his body.

As the police began to close in, Max handed himself in – but a letter he’d written to Lauren revealed his plan to keep her name out of it so that her baby son Frankie does not lose his mum.

The police were not convinced by his confession, however, insisting his claims that he hit Joel is self-defence don’t stack up due to the angles, with Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) convinced Lauren must have been there too.

It’s a suspicion we see David share next week, as our spoiler video from Monday’s episode reveals.

David receives a call from Max in prison and is furious with his stepson, believing the situation ‘has Lauren written all over it’.

Max insists he killed Joel in self-defence and Lauren has nothing to do with it.

But when David starts asking further questions, Max ends the call by telling David to tell his little sister Lily that he loves her.

David then makes a desperate call to speak to Kit – will he be able to get Max to tell the truth?

Coronation Street airs these scenes on Monday 18 November at 8pm on ITV1 and from 7am on ITVX.
