Corrie icon Sean’s death ‘sealed’ as fans ‘expose’ who kills him after 22 years on soap

Coronation Street’s Sean Tully could be set for a shock exit from the cobbles and fans reckon he could be killed off as they’ve come up with a ‘murder twist’

Coronation Street’s Sean Tully, played by Antony Cotton, might be heading for a surprising exit, according to fan theories.

The character, who has been a staple on the soap since his debut in 2003, is known for his iconic status and beloved nature. Over the years, the Rovers Return barman has been involved in numerous major storylines, from a series of unsuccessful romances to becoming a father to Dylan Wilson (Liam McCheyne).

Last year, Dylan was tormented by Mason Radcliffe (Luca Toolan), a troublemaker who ended up in a Young Offenders centre. However, Mason returned to the cobbles with a determination to change his ways.

Tragically, this week he was stabbed by his thug brothers and later died. To make matters worse for Dylan, Mason was stabbed with Dylan’s zombie knife that he had brought with him before Mason’s death.

In the episode aired on January 8, Dylan confessed to his father Sean that the knife used to kill Mason was his. In desperation, Dylan pleaded with Sean to help him flee, but Sean turned him into the police, knowing it was the right thing to do, reports Lancs Live.

After a gruelling interview at the police station, Dylan was granted bail. However, it was clear that his troubles were far from over. Despite telling the truth, Dylan could still face prison time for carrying a bladed weapon at a crime scene.

Corrie fans are convinced that Dylan’s potential prison stint for knife possession could spell the end for Sean Tully on the cobbles. On a Corrie fan page, one viewer speculated: “Dylan going to Young Offenders for possession of a knife – would mean the character going.”

“That then leaves Sean hanging – do they keep him or depict him moving closer to the Young Offenders to keep in contact with Dylan? Certainly I think Dylan’s mother may well pressure him never to return to Weatherfield. It’s not exactly been a good move for Dylan.”

Another fan chimed in, saying: “I agree, I can see Sean leaving to be closer to wherever Dylan goes.” And some have even cooked up a wild theory about Sean’s possible grisly fate.

One theorist suggested: “What if he gets murdered / killed off though? Hear me out, some of Mason’s family could be out for revenge and end up killing Sean? ” Another added fuel to the fire, responding: “With all the exits happening it wouldn’t surprise me.”

Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX
