Coronation Street fans were left feeling emotional after Daisy Midgeley shared heartbreaking details about her unborn baby after suffering a heartbreaking loss.

As fans of the ITV soap know, Daisy recently found herself in a dilemma after discovering she was pregnant. While she shared the news at Christmas with Jenny Connor, Daisy wasn’t able to confirm who the father was as she’d slept with her ex-fiance Daniel Osbourne and her new flame Kit Green.

Daisy later decided to get a DNA test, but after receiving the results last month, she has been keeping them a secret from everyone. She told Jenny that it was irrelevant who the father is before Daisy deleted the email, insisting the result will remain unknown.

But due to Jenny’s assumptions, Daisy is now lying to Daniel about him being the father of the unborn baby, with her confirming that they are, in fact, Kit’s biological child.

While Daisy carried on the lie, she’s currently at loggerheads with Jenny over the Rovers, after Daniel agreed to help them both pay Carla Connor back the money they stole following the death of serial killer Stephen Reid.

But there was a dramatic twist last week when a pregnant Daisy was caught in the crossfire after David Platt planned his own death.

As a drunk David stumbled into the road having been drinking in the Rovers and in Victoria Gardens, his wife Shona arrived just in time to see a car hurtling towards David.

Suddenly, Daisy appeared and the car plougheds into both David and Daisy. Having heard the crash, Nick Tilsley, Sarah Platt, Daniel, Jenny and Kit flew out of the Rovers to find David and Daisy seriously injured.

Both were rushed to hospital where medics battled to save David’s life. Initially, Daisy was told her unborn baby was ok and that it was her arm that needed fixing. However, after suffering a bleed during her surgery, doctors later confirmed she’d suffered a miscarriage.

During Monday night’s (March 10) Corrie, David was horrified to learn that Daisy had lost her baby because of him, and decided to come clean to her. She was shocked and angry at the confession and ended up speaking to Daisy about her unborn child.

She told David how she’d started to imagine her future with a baby in tow, considering the names Benjamin for a boy and Evie for a girl.

Fans have since taking to social media to comment on the sad scenes and also heap praise on actress Charlotte Jordan, who is set to bow out of the ITV soap after four years.
