Coronation Street’s Tracy squares up to a new fearsome enemy – and issues a threat

Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) takes action against a new enemy in Coronation Street this week amid health fears for her dad Ken Barlow (William Roache).

Tracy is back in Weatherfield after jetting in from Spain once again, where she now lives with new partner Tommy Orpington (Matt Milburn).

Her return coincides with Ken coming back from his holiday to Porto with Cassie Plummer (Claire Sweeney), who has been working as his carer since he ran into health problems earlier this year.

Viewers have seen how Ken’s family become increasingly worried that Cassie is milking Ken for his cash.

He recently won £50k after his premium bonds came up in a lottery, subsequently booking him and Cassie a luxury getaway.

Having burned through the cash, Ken examines his finances next week and realises he’s going to have to let Cassie go – much to the relief of his family.

However, he reconsiders his decision later in the week when he starts feeling unwell, telling Cassie he’ll pay her an extra pound an hour if she’ll accept her job back.

Tracy is furious at her dad’s offer, and flanked by ex Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) and Ken’s son Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson), she orders Cassie to sling her hook and stop sponging off Ken, adamant that she will look after her dad.

But Ken’s health soon takes a turn for the worse, and he’s rushed to hospital.

As the family rallies around Ken, Steve spells out to Cassie she is sacked – but will she take it lying down?

Tracy had previously encouraged her ex-husband Steve to ask Cassie out, after spotting the chemistry between them.

The pair eventually got it together last month, but Steve has become increasingly suspicious about her influence on Ken’s spending.

Will Steve and Tracy’s hunch about Cassie turn out to be true?

Coronation Street airs these scenes from Monday 18 November at 8pm on ITV1 and from 7am on ITVX.
