Coronation Street star Samia Longchambon has been seen with one of the show’s biggest legends after there was a surprise visit on the cobbles. The actress said castmate Bill Roache ‘couldn’t resist’ getting in a snap with her as they were visited by Scottish singer Marti Pellow.
This week, ITV Lorraine’s Change + Check campaign continued as the Wet Wet Wet star took the show’s ‘Love Is All Around’ bus to soap’s famous set after he joined the Change + Check choir to create their new single, a reimagined version of his band’s top-ten hit.
Appearing on Lorraine, Marti could be seen outside the Rovers Return with actress and breast cancer campaigner Sally Metcalfe, who explained how important the Change + Check campaign is.
She said: “Change + Check is a really important campaign and in Breast Cancer Awareness Month, this is all so fantastic [to encourage] women to check their breasts. It’s brilliant what you’re doing and it’s very exciting to meet Marti as well.”
The cast appeared excited to have Marti join them on the iconic cobbles and in the equally legendary Rovers. Taking to Instagram, Samia shared a picture of herself and her castmates – Jacob Roberts, Charlotte Jordan, Tina O’Brien, Julia Goulding and Peter Gunn – alongside Marti behind the bar.
Alongside the post, the Maria Windass actress wrote: “Lovely surprise visit from @martipellowofficial in the Rovers today!” Adding to her Instagram Story, Samia alongside posted a picture of herself and Bill alongside the ‘Love Is All Around’ bus and said: “Even Bill couldn’t resist a selfie in front of @martipellowofficial’s snazzy tour bus.”
Marti was also loving his time on the cobbles. Taking to Instagram, he shared a video of himself outside the Rovers, jokingly claiming he had been barred. He captioned the post: “Barred from the Rovers Return on @coronationstreet. L2L Marti x #LoveIsAllAround #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth #ChangeAndCheck #ITVLorraine.”
Sally Carman-Duttine, who is known for playing Abi Webster in Corrie, was quick to respond to the post after joining Martin, Sally and Claire Sweeney live on Tuesday’s (October 15) Lorraine. She commented: “Absolute legend and so, so very lovely,” alongside crying face and heart emojis.
