It comes after there was emotional scenes last month as Peter was seen bowing out of the ITV soap as Paul Foreman
Former Coronation Street star Peter Ash has been flooded with comments that often featured the same one-word as he enjoyed a reunion with his former castmates.
There were emotional scenes last month as Peter was seen bowing out of the ITV soap after six years. His exit came 17 months after his character Paul Foreman was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease in another hard-hitting storyline.
At the end of the long-running storyline, viewers saw Bernie Winter and Summer Spellman with Paul when his health took a sudden turn as he started struggling to breathe.
The pair called for an ambulance and Paul was rushed to the hospital where Bernie, Summer and Paul’s sister Gemma Winter-Brown were soon told by doctors there was nothing more they could do and they headed in to say their emotional goodbyes to Paul.
But in a tragic turn of events, Paul’s husband Billy Mayhew didn’t make it to the hospital in time to fulfil his promise of being by Paul’s side when the time came due to a string of unfortunate events that delayed him getting there and arriving once Paul had already passed.
Since leaving Corrie in the emotional scenes, Peter has been hailed for his portrayal of Paul, picking up a National Television Award at this year’s ceremony in the Serial Drama Performance category, days after his final scenes aired.
Now, the actor has added more silverware to his collection, During the 2024 Inside Soap Award earlier this week, he picked up Best Partnership alongside Billy co-star Daniel Brocklebank, Best Actor and Best Storyline.
Following the event, Peter has taken to social media in which he was pictures alongside a few of his former co-stars, who were celebrating various other awards on the night as Corrie was named Best Soap on the night while Charlie Wrenshall won Best Young Performer for his role as Liam Connor, and Dame Maureen Lipman won Best Comic Performance for the fourth year in a row, for her role as Evelyn Plummer.
In the picture shared on social media, Peter could be seen alongside Daniel, Charlie, Harriet Bibby (Summer Spellman), Calum Lill (Joe Deering) and Emrhys Cooper (Rowan Cunliffe). Captioning the post, he wrote: “Love these people! @coronationstreet @insidesoapmagazine #Corrie #CoronationStreet #InsideSoapAward.”
And his fans and followers were quick to respond as they helped celebrate Peter’s latest achievements. @gallichannatalie said: “Congratulations to you all. Very well deserved. Will definitely miss Billy and Paul’s partnership together.” @luvvforemans commented: “Super proud of you all!!!”
