Max Turner actor Paddy Bever is set to leave Coronation Street after five years on the soap as he heads to prison
Coronation Street’s Paddy Bever, known for his role as Max Turner, could be heading to a rival soap.
Paddy rose to prominence in 2021 when he joined the ITV soap as the son of the late Kylie Platt (Paula Lane), and has since been involved in several major storylines. In 2022, his character was groomed by far-right extremists, and last year, he attempted to take the blame for the murder of Joel Dommett (Calum Lill) to protect his girlfriend Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton).
Last month, Max’s storyline took a dramatic turn when he set fire to the Platt house in an attempt to repay gangster Harvey Gaskell (Will Mellor). This week, Max was sentenced to six and a half years in prison, marking Paddy’s exit from the show.

Earlier this year, Paddy announced his departure from Coronation Street, expressing his desire to “explore new opportunities”. The decision to leave after four years was “an incredibly difficult decision”, according to the 22 year old actor. Now, with Max behind bars, it appears that a role in a rival soap could be on the horizon for Paddy.
Betway has provided exclusive odds, placing Paddy at 12/1 to join Emmerdale, reports Leicestershire Live. Paddy Bever’s departure from Coronation Street has sparked speculation about his next career move, with Betway spokesperson Mike Reading commenting: “The news of Paddy Bever’s upcoming exit from Coronation Street has sent shockwaves through Weatherfield, leaving his next move a hot topic among fans.”

He added, “With the full line-up still to be announced, Paddy’s exit could see him join this year’s I’m A Celebrity cast (4/1), while the chance of him taking part in Celebrity Great British Bake Off is priced up at 6/1.”
However, Reading also noted, “But given his popularity and talent – earning him a Rising Star award at the NTAs in 2022 – another stint in soapland isn’t totally out of the question. There is a chance he takes a role in Emmerdale (12/1), especially with the Dales undergoing a casting shake-up as several long-standing stars exit the show.”
Dom Aldworth, Head of Brand Marketing at Slingo, also weighed in on Bever’s potential future, saying, “Given how he has impressed Coronation Street viewers with his portrayal of Max, a natural next step could be continuing his successful soap career.”
Aldworth believes, “His youthful energy could be the perfect match for Hollyoaks, where he could add depth to their high-energy and explosive storylines, something he already excels with.”
Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX
