Coronation Street’s Lisa Swain ‘framed for murder’ – but she has a cunning plan

Corrie’s DS Lisa Swain was arrested for her supposed involvement in Joel Deering’s murder, but now she’s on a mission to prove her innocence, and she has something up her sleeve

DS Lisa Swain was just one of the suspects in the running for the murder of Joel Deering – and Kit Green was waiting to put her in cuffs in Coronation Street.

Despite an extra confession earlier from Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown), who said she hit Joel (Callum Lill) with a crowbar before fleeing, Lisa (Vicky Myers) was the one put in custody. But new spoilers suggest that the copper is not taking this lying down, and she has a plan to prove her innocence to the authorities.

Carla Connor (Alison King) has grown closer to Lisa these past few weeks, and their supposed blossoming romance could be the key to Carla’s freedom. On Wednesday (November 12), Lisa will reveal her latest theory on Joel’s murder, which she believes will set her free.

Lisa was previously suspended for having a threatening message to Joel on her phone

As the investigation into Joel’s murder continues, Lisa confides in Carla as she figures out her latest theory. She believes someone planted her CS spray with the murder weapon, as they wanted to frame her directly.

Lisa contemplates who she thinks wanted to set them up, as she believes they are the murderer. There is no confirmation, but Coronation Street fans will know that Kit Green is no stranger to tampering with evidence, as he planted Lauren Green’s in villain Nathan’s van to frame him.

The bent copper is leading the investigation, which could cause stress for Lisa. She decides to retrace her steps after a conversation with Carla and see where she could have left her spray.

Lisa is just one suspect in Joel’s murder case

Lisa could be behind the murder, but either way Kit calls his next suspect into the interview room.

Previously, Dee-Dee headed to the station to confess to Kit that she had attacked Joel the night he died. While she was wracked with guilt, she did admit that Joel got back into his car and drove away before he died. Not only that, he left her a message.

She added the attack was in self-defence. Despite Kit searching for evidence, he did not seem entirely pleased by this admission and instead let Dee-Dee go and arrested Lisa instead.

ITV have officially confirmed that Joel’s murderer will be revealed later this week on Friday November 15.

Coronation Street is on ITV at 8pm Monday, Wednesday and Friday and available to stream from 7am on ITVX
