Lisa George has been seen looking completely different from how her fans of how her fans would usually recognise her as Beth Tinker
Coronation Street star Lisa George has been seen looking completely different from how her fans of how her fans would usually recognise her as she prepares for her first role since leaving the cobbles.
Prior to her exit scenes as the beloved Beth Tinker in the ITV soap, it had already been revealed that the actress was set to join panto this festive season.
And in her latest update, Lisa was a far cry from her former alter-ego Beth’s 80s clobber as she donned a sparkling gown and tiara ahead of playing Fairy Godmother in Cinderella at the Wyvern Theatre & Swindon Arts Centre.
Ahead of her stint on stage, Lisa took part in a press day and shared a selfie to her Instagram Story in which she could be seen sporting a pink wig and a glistening purple outfit with matching oversized glasses and purple lipstick.
“Promo panto day!! @wyverntheatre #cinderalla,” the former soap star wrote alongside the post, in which she could be seen beaming for the camera.
Just after Christmas, reports emerged that Lisa was set to leave Corrie. The rumours have continued and it wasn’t until she appeared on This Morning, days before her final scenes aired, at the end of August, that her exit was confirmed.
Lisa took to social media to share her love for the role she’s held for more than a decade as well as the viewers for supporting her. Sharing some of her favourite snaps from other the years, she wrote on Instagram: “Tonight Beth says farewell to Coronation Street after 13 truly unforgettable years.
“Never did I think all those years ago that two episodes would turn into over a decade of my life on screen, but in the blink of an eye it’s passed like no time at all… I feel honoured to have been part of such an institution for so long… the world’s first and longest running soap! What a ride it’s been.
“Over the years I’ve worked with the most incredible cast and crew members, who have made going to work every day such a special joy. Every single one of them shows such passion and dedication to their jobs, they’re the most hard working and talented team of creatives I’ve ever had the pleasure of working alongside. It’s near impossible to summarise the experiences I’ve had playing Beth, so many moments of Weatherfield that I’ll cherish forever!”
She added: “Thank you to all of the fans for your unwavering love and support, to all of the cast and crew (past and present) for being like a family and to ITV for everything you’ve given me over the past 13 years.
“Although I’m leaving this chapter behind with tears in my eyes, I’m also looking forward to what the future holds and all of the other characters I’m yet to play… and I hope you’ll all come along with me as I embark on this next chapter. Here’s just a small snap shot of the past 13 years… Thank you all so much, Lisa xx.”
