Jacob Roberts may have hinted at his involvement in Joel Deering’s downfall as the cast tease big scenes

Coronation Street star Jacob Roberts may have hinted at his involvement in Joel Deering’s downfall in a recent social media update. The actor recently arrived in the ITV soap as new cop Kit Green.

The new character was first revealed to viewers after Bernie Winter went on a mission to track down the son she gave up. Following the surprise return of her ex Denny to see their dying son Paul Foreman.

A comment about her past triggered Bernie to eventually admit to her partner Dev Alahan that she had given birth to a third child. She She then went searching for the son, Zodiac, she gave up and when she found Kit, he lied and said he wasn’t adopted but it was later confirmed that Bernie had found her long-lost son.

He’s since made things difficult for Bernie, even attempting to turn children Paul and Gemma Winter against her. But it’s not just family matters that are making Corrie fans suspicious of Kit as he’s been seen planting evidence in the Lauren Bolton case and now forcing Beth Tinker off the street after she tried to play him at his own game.

But Corrie fans may be left wondering if Kit could come good when it comes to Joel getting his comeuppance. Earlier this week, Calum Lill, who plays the soap’s evili solicitor, was seen taking part in back-to-back night shoots for the long-running show’s upcoming scenes.

Calum took to Instagram on Monday evening (September 2) with a snap of their late-night filming location as he told his fans and followers: “Birthday B2B [back to back] night shoot pt 1. Cheers Cozzar.” Alongside his second update, with a photo of the famous cobbles at 6.09am, he said: “Finished… until this afternoon!”

Channique Sterling-Brown, who plays Weatherfield’s Dee-Dee Bailey, then revealed that they did manage to surprise Calum on set. As it was his birthday after all, a video on her Instagram Story shows her presenting her co-star and pal with a cake with burning candles as she and the crew sang to the birthday boy.

But Jacob, who previously starred in Hollyoaks as Damon Kinsella also seemingly confirmed he was involved in the nighttime filming. Posting a picture of himself in his dressing room as he posed in the mirror, he wrote in view of his social media followers: “Night shift….”

Meanwhile, Corrie co-star Daniel Brocklebank also revealed he was spending an evening working on the famous street, hinting that some big scenes are to come. While he didn’t reveal what Billy Mayhew was doing, Daniel did share how he was sporting his character’s nightwear as he posted a snap from the famous street.

Captioning the post, in which the iconic Rovers Return could just be seen being lit up by some external lights in the background, he wrote: “Surely there’s nothing more exciting than a middle-aged fictional vicar in stripy pajamas on a fictional cobbled street at night…”
