Coronation Street’s Emrhys Cooper wished ‘luck’ as he confirms personal challenge

The actor took to social media in a personal announcement amid comments about his return to the ITV soap as Rown Cunliffe

Coronation Street star Emrhys Cooper has been flooded with support from fans as he revealed he’s set to embark on a personal challenge. The actor took to social media in a personal announcement amid comments about his return to the ITV soap as Rown Cunliffe.

On Instagram, Emrhys shared a photo of himself wearing a T-shirt branded with the Alzheimer’s Society’s colours and logo. Alongside the picture, the soap star explained that he’ll be taking part in two events to help raise money for the charity as it’s very close to his heart.

Emrhys wrote: “Hey guys, I am running the Manchester half & London Marathon in support of the Alzheimer’s Society because this cause is deeply personal to me.

“My mother-in-law Marie Brophy is battling Alzheimer’s, and I’ve seen firsthand the devastating impact it has on her and our family. By raising funds, I hope to contribute to research, support, and care that can make a difference for those affected by this cruel disease and their loved ones.”

He added: “Running for Marie! All donations of all sizes appreciated, thank you [red heart emoji]. Link in bio @alzheimerssoc @justgiving @manchestermarathon @londonmarathon.”

The comments section was quickly filled with support for Emrhys. @teacherloz said: “This is fantastic. I ran London Marathon last year for the same cause in memory of my Dad. Donation incoming.” @luvvforemans commented: “Absolutely incredible. best of luck!!!”

Thinking of you and your family.” @autum.n71 replied: “I donate already but you are a wonderful man for doing this @emrhyscooper.” @zoesimmonds3 posted: “Good luck hope you raise lots of money.” @hylo.life.andstyle added: “Well done Emrhys.”

As Corrie fans know, Emrhys hasn’t been seen on screen from some time after it was confirmed that Rown had been charged with blackmail and fraud after Leanne Battersby finally discovered the truth about The Insitute.

However, Emrhys hinted recently that it’s seemingly not the last we’ll hear – or see – of Rowan as he shared a selfie of himself back in his dressing room at the Corrie set and wrote on his Instagram Story: “‘It’s not personal, it’s Strictly business.'”
