Those who follow the Rowan Cunliffe actor on social media will have recently seen him enjoying a sun-soaked break
Coronation Street star Emrhys Cooper has confirmed his time on the cobbles isn’t over yet as he returned to the Trafford-based set. Those who follow the actor will have recently seen him enjoying a sun-soaked break.
In one update, Emrhys, who joined the ITV soap earlier this year as Institute mentor Rowan Cunliffe, was seen taking a break from relaxing as he took part in the Benahavís River Walk where those taking part hike and swim their way through the Río Guadalmina in Spain.
As he took a snap of himself preparing to get into his wetsuit, Emrhys captioned the post: “I was supposed to be getting some R&R in Marbella but adventure called… canyoning adventure. Benahavís River Walk was EPIC!”
Soon after, Emrhys was back in Manchester and shared an adorable snap of himself reunited with his beloved pet dogs. “Sooo good to be home and reunited with my little munchkins,” he shared on his Instagram Story.
it came after he shared a selfie and teased he’d received some good news. “Just found out some very exciting news… Will be able to share soon,” the soap star teased.
And while fans may have thought his time in Weatherfield had come to an abrupt end, in his latest update, Emrhys has confirmed he’s still got Rowan as his sinister alter-ego.
Last week in Corrie, fans were led to believe that Rown’s comeuppance had been confirmed after Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) tricked him into revealing his guilt over conning members of The Institute into revealing their innermost thoughts before convincing them to invest in the company.
After Leanne had emailed herself some of the files from his laptop exposing his recording of ‘upload’ sessions from members as well as banking details, Rowan tried to guilt-trip Leanne into deleting and handing over any copies of the documents, claiming he was a victim of the cult-like Institute as well.
After she handed over what she had, Rowan twisted the knife by insulting Leanne and lifting his victim facade. But it was already too later, as Amy Barlow, Toyah Habeeb and Nick Tilsley arrived as back-up and confirmed the police had been called and they were on their way.
In the aftermath, Leanne’s stepson Sam Blakeman urged Leanne and her stepsister Toyah to forget his cheating dad Nick and move on as a united family despite Toyah’s affair with him being exposed after Rowan’s blackmail threats.
Later, Nick arrived, he explained that the police had been in touch, and Rowan had been charged with blackmail and fraud, so he would definitely be going to prison. Leanne was disappointed as she felt like the Insitotue had gotten away with their crimes, but Nick assured her that she had, at least, taken vile Rowan down.
But that’s not the last we’ll hear – or see – of Rown it seems. Sharing a selfie of himself back in his dressing room at the Corrie set, Emrhys wrote on his Instagram Story on Thursday (September 19): “‘It’s not personal, it’s Strictly business.'”
