Coronation Street’s Elle Mulvaney supported by co-stars after ‘first-ever’ update

Elle, who is famed for playing Amy Barlow in the ITV soap, has been supported by her co-stars as she revealed a brand new achievement

Coronation Street star Elle Mulvaney has been supported by her co-stars as she revealed a brand new achievement. The actress has been working hard in training for her first-ever half marathon.

Elle, who is famed for playing Amy Barlow in the ITV soap, took part in the Manchester Half marathon over the weekend which saw 24,000 runners take to the streets of Manchester and attempt to tackle the 13.1 mile route in support of various charities and organisations.

The race saw participants set off from Old Trafford, heading through Hulme, the city centre, Stretford, Sale, Sale Moor, Chorlton-cum-Hardy, Whalley Range and ending right back where it all began.

Among those running was Elle, for the Wigan MS Therapy Centre alongside her sister Georgia, and her Corrie co-star Emrhys Cooper, who was raising money for Alzheimer’s Society.

Alongside pictures of her celebrating completing the impressive challenge as she posed with her medal around her neck, Elle wrote on Instagram: “first half marathon, completed it mate.

“SO proud to have completed my first ever half marathon at @mcrhalf !!! what an amazing day, and to make it EVEN better me and my sister have managed to raise over £700 for Wigan MS Therapy centre – a really deserving, small charity who help people affected by MS @wiganmstherapy.”

Elle’s Corrie co-stars were quick to show their support with Toyah Habeeb actress Georgia Taylor writing: “You absolute rock star.” Jane Danson, who plays Leanne Battersby in the ITV soap, replied: “Well done sweetie. You are brilliant!” Sally Carman-Dutting, who stars as Weatherfield’s Abi Webster, said: “Wow! You GO GIRL!”

Former on-screen boyfriend Jack James Ryan, who played Jacob Hay in Corrie, gushed: “So proud of u,” while Hits Radio host Mike Toolan added: “Well done Elle!! That’s not an easy thing to do.”
