Fans haven’t been trusting of the cop, played by Jacob Roberts, ever since he arrived on the cobbles last year
Coronation Street fans look set to find more out about Kit Green as his past is set to be ‘exposed’ by the arrival of a new family in Weatherfield.
Fans haven’t been trusting of the cop, played by Jacob Roberts, ever since he arrived on the cobbles last year. Jacob made his debut in the ITV soap as Kit when it was revealed that Bernie Winter was looking for her long-lost son, Zodiac, who had been renamed Christopher upon adoption.
When she found Kit, as she posed as a cleaner before rifling through his drawers, he lied and said he wasn’t adopted but it was later confirmed that Bernie had found her long-lost son. He soon made things difficult for Bernie, even attempting to turn children Paul Foreman and Gemma Winter against her, before Paul’s tragic death seemingly brought them together.
But it’s not just his family he has been having interesting – and difficult – relationships with as it’s clear he rubs DS Lisa Swain up the wrong way at the station while back on the street, his relationship with Daisy Midgeley took a step forward after covering the fact she hit Shona Platt with Debbie Webster’s stolen car, while also sleeping with Shona behind her husband David’s back.
Over Christmas, Corrie viewers saw how things aren’t getting much easier for Kit – but he doesn’t even know it yet – as Daisy discovered she’s pregnant with what could be his or her ex Daniel Osbourne’s child. Meanwhile, David Platt has also found himself on the wrong side of Kit after he went after him when he confessed he’d slept with his wife, Shona.
It has now been announced that the arrival of new ‘nightmare neighbours’ in upcoming scenes will lead to more being outed about Kit. Mick and Lou Michaelis will arrive on the street in February, all guns blazing, making life hell for anyone who dares to cross them.
With the Michaelis family moving into Mawdsley Street, at the back of Chesney and Gemma’s house, this will be the very first time Coronation Street have extended the drama across the ginnel. Initially arriving on her own on-screen on February 12, Lou, played by Farrel Hegarty, immediately sparks up a friendship with Gemma as they recognise each other from Bessie Street School, where Gemma’s quads and Lou’s two young daughters attend.
When Mick, played by Joe Layton, appears later on February 14, the audience will be shocked to realise his true identity – the man with the silver van who has been harassing Chesney, who is none the wiser to who Mick really is, for months. After developing a friendship with the Winter-Browns, it’s evident that Mick and Lou are determined to create upheaval, starting with a prior connection to Kit Green, leading to them exposing his secretive past.
