Coronation Street’s Daniel Brocklebank flooded with messages over adorable ‘loved’ update

Coronation Street star Daniel Brocklebank has been flooded with messages from fans as he shared an adorable update. The actor is known for playing Billy Mayhew in the ITV soap.

And while Billy hasn’t acquired any pets in Weatherfield, away from the cobbles, fans may know that Daniel is very much an animal lover with a gang of sweet dogs of his own who he is often sharing updates about on social media.

For those who don’t know, back in 2019, the soap star got a ‘new man in his life’ – an adorable Dachshund called Colin. Daniel adopted the then-four-month-old pup who was being cared for at Dogs Trust Manchester after being illegally smuggled into the UK.

Colin was one of a litter of six puppies illegally imported into the UK from Hungary. Having travelled over 1,000 miles in horrendous conditions the litter was seized at the border by enforcement authorities before being looked after by the animal welfare charity.

Then, in February 2020, Daniel and Colin got a friend. “I would like to introduce you all to the newest addition to the family… Colin now has a sister, Jean!!” the actor shared alongside a photo of him cuddling up to his new Dachshund pup. “Huge thanks to the @DogsTrust again for all their amazing support.”

It was then early last year that the soap star revealed that his brood of four-legged companions had grown again as he introduced the newest member to the clan, Dorris. Taking to Instagram on April 4, the 44-year-old shared an image of himself smiling for the camera while holding on to a little Daschund pup.

Now, Daniel has taken to social media with a sweet snap of himself enjoying a snuggle with one of his pup and said on Instagram: “Look at her! This adopted pup is so loved. I have to thank the @dogstrust for bringing this one (and my other two adorable pups, who are equally loved) into my life.”

And it left fans rushing to respond. @clairemer17 said: “Love how you have adopted and not shopped.” @jordsdanx commented: “They are the luckiest pups.” @jaynek304 wrote: “You are a lucky man having 3 pups that love you.” @jenjmiller1 replied: “She feels the love and gratitude that you adopted her.”
