Coronation Street’s Colson Smith is back in England and ready to transform into his soap character after spending time in Australia.
The actor portrays Craig Tinker in the ITV soap, but has been away in Oz following the return of I’m A Celebrity.
Colson appeared on I’m A Celebrity Unpacked, the spin-off show which airs on ITV2.
He starred alongside presenters Joel Dommett, Sam Thompson and Kemi Rodgers to talk about this year’s cast, which also happens to feature Colson’s co-star Alan Halsall.
Recently, the actor took to his Instagram to reveal he was back on the Corrie set, ready to get back into filming.
Filming as Craig requires a transformation where Colson is concerned, as he confirmed to his followers he needed to shave his beard off.
Revealing that he hasn’t slept as a result of jet lag, Colson says ‘it is time for me to get ready to be PC Craig Tinker which means the beard has got to go, we’re back to the baby face copper.’
He goes on to shave the beard over a sink using an electric razor. At the end, newly transformed Colson jokes and calls himself a ‘mole rat’, but is a little kinder to Craig by noting that he’s the ‘finest copper in all the land’.
In October, Colson, who is 26, opened up about having a hair transplant.
The actor revealed the results of the procedure in smiley Instagram photos, which showed him holding a ‘Mr Hair Transplant’ mug and flashing a thumbs up.
‘Slightly different to my usual hairstyle…,’ he wrote in a lengthy caption.
‘On Monday I had a hair transplant. A transplant has been on my agenda since I first noticed my hair loss at the age 22. Losing my hair at such a young age has been a tough thing for me to come to terms with, I instantly feel SOOO much better and more confident that I’ve taken a step to getting back my luscious strawberry blonde locks.’
Colson, who has been on Corrie since 2011, came in 3rd place behind Strictly star Nikita Kuzmin and Ibiza Weekender rep David Potts in ITV’s revival of Celebrity Big Brother earlier this year.
During his time on the show he came to blows with Reggae Reggae Sauce inventor Levi Roots who branded his behaviour as ‘boring’.
