The actor took part in the 2024 run of the ITV reality show after having to pull out of an appearance in the jungle last year
Coronation Street star Claire Sweeney has branded Alan Halsall as their ‘winner’ as she shared a glimpse into his return to the cobbles after I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here.
The actor took part in the 2024 run of the ITV reality show after having to pull out of an appearance in the jungle last year. He was among the 12 famous faces who took part in the hit programme this year, after an ACL injury and subsequent surgery forced him out of the 2023 series.
He was a hit among I’m A Celeb viewers but ended up being the seventh campmate to leave the jungle, just behind TikTok star GK Barry, in a double elimination days before the final of the ITV jungle show, which took place on Sunday (December 8). Danny Jones was crowned king.
Alan, who is famed for playing Tyrone Dobbs in ITV’s Corrie, then headed back from Australia last week and took a bit of time off to enjoy time with his daughter, Sienna-Rae, before returning to playing his Weatherfield alter-ego – a role he’s held for more than 25 years.
Claire, who plays his on-screen mum Cassie Plummer, has now taken to social media to share a look at Alan’s return, in which he was seen walking onto the Rovers Return set while the I’m A Celeb theme tune played out, as he was joined by co-stars Daniel Brocklebank and Patti Clare, who play Weatherfield’s Billy Mayhew and Mary Taylor.
Alongside the clip, the soap star wrote on her Instagram Story: “He’s back!!! Our winner @coronationstreet @alanhalsall.” She also share a smiling selfie of the pair, captioning the post: “You were brilliant @alanhalsall,” alongside a red heart emoji.
Alan also took to his Instagram Story to mark his return. He posed for a smiling photo outside of the iconic Rovers Return which he posted to his Instagram Story and said: “Back to doing what I love best.”
It comes after Alan took part in an Instagram Q&A and encouraged his followers to quiz him on his time on the reality show. One fan asked: “What was the worst trial you had to do?” to which the soap star, famed for playing Tyrone Dobbs in ITV’s Corrie, said: “Easily the biting pigs testicles/face in fish guts and biting into fish eyeballs (not wasy as a vegetarian).”
On the subject of being vegetarian, Alan was aksed if he had to eat meat while in the jungle but he confirmed:” No, they send a veggie equivalent (generally something very bland, plain tofu… etc.”
On what viewers don’t see, Alan was asked what was the funniest moment he had in the jungle or his highlught that wasn’t aired to which he said: “Definitely teaching Danny and Barry how to plait hair!!!”
