News of Coronation Street star Charlotte Jordan’s departure left fans devastated, and now she has shared a four word update viewers after she stepped away from the ITV soap

Coronation Street star Charlotte Jordan is still at work on the ITV soap after announcing she was leaving.

Fans were gutted when Charlotte, 29, became the latest star to quit the ITV soap, and now she has issued a four-word update to viewers after her shock exit. The actress joined the cast five years ago and has played Rovers barmaid Daisy Midgeley.

Fans think they’ve worked out her character’s fate, and she will be leaving the cobbles behind later this year. The exact date of her departure hasn’t been revealed yet.

But Charlotte proved she’s still hard at work with a post on her social media. The star shared a snap with bright studio lights overhead, and appeared to be in the Rover’s Return.

News of Charlotte’s departure shocked fans

She made a rock’n’roll hand gesture while pouting for the camera, and captioned the fun snap with the words “Thank god it’s Friday!” Her post comes just weeks after she made the shock announcement she would be leaving Coronation Street behind.

In a statement she shared: “My time at Coronation Street is something I’ll always cherish. After a brilliant four years for Daisy, it’s time for me to start a new chapter and explore other opportunities.”

“It’s been a privilege to be part of a wonderful institution with even more wonderful colleagues who have taught me so much,” she added. The show is recorded weeks in advance, so it’s not yet known when the talented star’s final scenes will be filmed.

It comes after the likes of Corrie legends Sue Cleaver and Colson Smith confirmed their exits from the soap, as well as Max Turner star Paddy Bever and Shelley King, who plays Yasmeen Nazir. Corrie boss Kate Brooke previously revealed there would be a “few exits” in 2025.

The likes of Craig Tinker star Colson Smith are also leaving

She told The Sun: “There are a few exits this year, and some unexpected ones that will send shockwaves. People might not expect the exits, but there are a few.”

Colson, who plays officer Craig Tinker, said of his exit: “Autumn last year I was told that Craig Tinkers time on the Cobbles is to come to end in 2025. I’ve LOVED every single second of my 14 year stay as a resident on the GREATEST street in the world. I feel incredibly lucky to have grown up in, on and around Coronation street.

“I’ve learnt pretty much everything about life from the people who call it home. I’m excited to play out the exit story for Our Craigy. For Me, this is just the end of the beginning. I genuinely can’t wait to see what chapter 2 has in store for me. LONG LIVE THE COBBLES! (sic)”
