Actress Sydney Martin has been declared love by one of her co-stars and flooded with support from fans
Coronation Street actress Sydney Martin has been declared love by one of her co-stars and flooded with support from fans as she said she wanted to ‘keep it real’ online.
Fans of the ITV soap now best know the actress for playing Betsy Swain, the previously unseen daughter of DS Lisa Swain who has been on the cobbles since 2021.
The teenage character was revealed as the daughter of the detective sergeant, played by Vicky Myers, having initially been introduced as a friend of Sabrina Adetiba amid the Joel Deering and Lauren Bolton grooming storyline.
After landing her first big acting role, Sydney has been building up a following on social media and fans can often find her on TikTok where she shares open and honest insights into her personal life with snippets of what’s going on in her career thrown in.
Earlier this week she took to the popular platform with a vdieo which she captioned “Keeping it real with you all, down days are so normal and we’ve so got this!”
In the video, Sydney said she was going to take fans through her evening routine – including a dose of skincare, as she admitted to not feeling her best.
Opening the video, the 23-year-old said: “Hello so I thought I would do a little vlog because I’m having a bit of an evening and I just wanted to normalise that it’s normal to feel this way, I have come home and I was sat feeling sad. I thought no, stop this.”
Sydney said she has been doing little things to turn her mind off. She added: “It’s always the week before my period. I’ve just looked into PMDD and I definitely think it’s something I suffer from because it’s always this time of month.”

As she continued to give an insight into her evening, Sydney spoke about now being in a long-distance relationship with her boyfriend meaning she’ll be “living out of suitcases” for the time being. Her flatmate then brought her home a McDonalds.
She later rounded off the clip by shouting out her friends for their support as she said: “But really, sometimes all it takes is just a good natter to your besties and I’m so lucky to have my Amy, and Paisley but he’s not here tonight.”
Sydney’s Corrie co-star Cait Fitton, who plays Lauren Bolton, was among those to reply to the video as she commented: “I love you gorgeous girl” before her fans were quick to show their support.
One said: “Thank you for being so real and sharing that it’s okay to not be okay sometimes!” Another commented: “Thanks for being so real, u stunning and the kindest soul ever.” A third wrote; “appreciate how real you are!! you’re incredible, sending love.”
A followers also shared: “Sydney we all our off days talking about it will help and keep smiling girl you have got this.” A fifth added: “WE LOVE YOU we are all with you syd always remember that you matter and you make a difference to the world my sweet girl.”
