Coronation Street viewers think they’ve worked out what might lead to Eva Price returning to the ITV soap, after reports actress Catherine Tyldesley is reprising her role

There’s a big return looming on Coronation Street according to reports, and it could lead to bad news for Jenny Connor.

It’s claimed Leanne Battersby’s sister Eva Price will make a big comeback to the ITV soap in the coming weeks. Actress Catherine Tyldesley is said to have reprised the role after seven years away.

Details surrounding her return storyline have not yet been confirmed, but fans are convinced they know why she will be back. It could spell bad news for Jenny Connor in a second blow, amid the looming exit of her stepdaughter Daisy Midgeley.

Pregnant Daisy and Jenny are set to fall out in the coming weeks amid them owing Carla Connor thousands of pounds, and them also at risk of losing their pub The Rovers as a result. Now, fans think they will in fact lose the pub and that returning character Eva could be set to take over.

Her mother Stella Price previously owned it with Eva working behind the bar. So will Eva come back and buy the pub in a major twist, with Jenny losing her beloved place of work and her home?

Catherine played Eva on the ITV soap from 2011 to 2018. In her final scenes, Eva decided to go with baby Susie to France following the death of her ex Aidan Connor.

Just last year, Catherine teased her possible return during an appearance on ITV’s Good Morning Britain where she told hosts Ben Shephard and Ranvir Singh: “Eva’s making a comeback – everyone thought the same! But never say never. It was just lovely to see everybody.”

A source claimed Catherine will start filming in the coming weeks for new scenes. Speaking to The Sun, they said she was approached a few times for a return but ‘the stars never aligned’. They said: “But when she was approached with the idea for Eva’s return, it was too good of an opportunity to pass up.

“She’s so excited and can’t wait to get back on the cobbles and it’s definitely not going to be a storyline to miss.” The Mirror have reached out to ITV for comment.

Ahead of the confirmation fans shared their theories, with one writing on social media: “Surely she buys the Rovers,” as another agreed: “PLEASE have Leanne and Eva team up to take over the pub.” A third fan said: “I reckon Miss Eva price is going to end up being the one to buy the pub back off Jenny, Carla and Daisy.”
