Coronation Street’s Todd Grimshaw has been single for a number of years – but that could all be about to change
Corrie’s Todd Grimshaw, portrayed by Gareth Pierce, might be on the brink of an unexpected new romance on the street. Since making his entrance with the Grimshaw household in 2001, Todd has been intertwined in many of the soaps major plots. From fraudulent schemes to numerous love affairs, his journey on Weatherfields bustling roads has been anything but dull.
His romantic endeavours have often ended in heartbreak, including with characters Sarah-Louise Platt (Tina O’Brien) and Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank). Todd’s most recent love interest was Moses Ekundayo, played by Michael Fatogun, who entered as personal assistant to Paul Foreman (Peter Ash).
Unfortunately, following developments in Paul’s struggle with MND, Moses eventually departed from the show, leaving Todd without a partner once more. But dedicated fans are buzzing with the belief that a fresh romantic storyline is on the horizon for him.

Further fuelling speculation, Corries newly appointed head honcho Kate Brooks teased: “There might be a new man for Todd coming.”, reports Lancs Live. “He’s been single for donkey’s years, and he’s fantastic. The Grimshaws are another big clan I am eager to explore,” Brooks revealed in a recent chat about the plot trajectory for 2025.
Additionally, fans believe they’ve sussed out the identity of Todds potential new flame. Alongside hinting at upcoming drama for Todd, Kate disclosed that newcomer Carl Webster will soon join the cast. Carl has ties to the street as the sibling of longstanding characters Kevin (Michael Le Vell) and Debbie (Sue Devaney), despite only being mentioned in passing historically.

Although he hasn’t yet set foot on the famous cobbles, being a German native residing in his home country, speculation is rife that Carl’s arrival will spark a romance with Todd.
On X, one fan speculated: “Romance for Todd Grimshaw – confirmed by new producer Kate Brooks a few months ago. She said Todd’s guy will be a ‘new’ man on the Street (not Billy and not Sean) – will it be Carl Webster?” Another fan chimed in, saying: “I think that Carl is gay too and he’ll get with Todd.”
A third fan shared the same sentiment, writing: “Same here.” Meanwhile, another viewer expressed their excitement about Todd’s return to the spotlight, commenting: “Glad Todd is back to having storylines- it’s been a while!”
