Coronation Street fans are set to be left shocked as the ITV soap unveils a raunchy new love triangle plot involving a married couple and a hunky half-brother mirroring Ryan Giggs’ affair
Coronation Street’s latest steamy plotline is mirroring Ryan Giggs’ sordid affair, with its echoes of the footballer’s infamous affair with his brother’s wife.
The ITV soap is set to get pulses racing as Kevin Webster’s other half strays into the arms of his attractive younger sibling. Weatherfield’s own Kevin, portrayed by Michael Le Vell, 60, is grappling with testicular cancer in the show’s current episodes. Yet, amidst his health struggles, Kevin’s spouse Abi, brought to life by Sally Carman, 43, succumbs to the allure of clandestine romps with his half-brother, Carl.
A source allegedly close to the ITV soap said: “It’s the ultimate betrayal, sleeping with your husband’s hunky, younger brother but Abi just can’t help herself.”

This juicy storyline unfolds after the scandal that rocked the sports world when ex-Manchester United star Ryan Giggs (51) was exposed for having an eight-year fling with his brother Rhodri’s wife, Natasha, causing a massive scandal in 2011. Coronation Street’s head Kate Brooks let slip last year that they were on the hunt for a dashing actor to fill the shoes of Carl Webster.
While the identity of the actor stepping into the role remains under wraps, he’s already been spotted filming with the ITV crew. Carl has been a name dropped occasionally as the half-brother to both Kevin and his sister Debbie, yet he’s never graced the screen until now. The reveal of the actor set to portray the charming womaniser is slated for next week.

Abi and Kevin are hit with another heavy storyline after Kevin’s cancer diagnosis
The source continued to The Sun: “Carl arrives in Weatherfield this spring and is going to turn quite a few heads. He’s a good looking ladies man and gets quite a lot of attention. But while he can have any woman, however, it’s his brother’s wife Abi who he pursues. The pair sleep together and although Abi feels guilty she just can’t help herself.”
The chemistry between the two is off the scale and things are about to get even steamier on Britain’s most famous street. Viewers will witness Kevin grappling with his diagnosis, pushing his wife Abi away and seeking comfort in his ex-wife Sally Metcalfe, portrayed by Sally Dynevor (61). This sultry plot twist follows The Sun on Sunday’s revelation that Corrie villain Rob Donovan is set to have passionate encounters with a seductive prison guard in a sizzling new storyline.
Former Shameless actress Rebecca Atkinson, 41, will engage in a romantic relationship with the convict played by the handsome Marc Baylis, 47. However, the soap has seen a string of surprising departures in recent months amid a revamp by Kate, who assumed control last April. Soap icon Helen Worth bid farewell to the cobbles on Christmas Day after embodying Gail Platt for 50 years.
