Coronation Street’s Kit Green actor Jacob Roberts has revealed how his character will cope in the aftermath of his brother Paul Foreman’s death next week, and what it means for his mum Bernie
It seems Coronation Street’s Bernie Winter could be in the firing line, as her son Kit Green deals with the death of his brother Paul Foreman in upcoming scenes.
Bernie’s son Paul will pass away in a devastating episode on on Monday night, leaving his loved ones in pieces. Viewers know the character was diagnosed with motor neurone disease last year, and his health has dramatically declined ever since.
In recent episodes, Paul’s breathing has worsened and on Monday the character will be left barely responsive, leading to him being rushed to hospital. Kit only recently debuted on the show as Bernie’s secret son, and he’s had little time to get to know his siblings including Paul.
The pair shared a sweet moment on Friday as they hoped they’d have more time together. But on Monday there’s heartbreak when Paul’s health worsens and he’s rushed to hospital, with him passing away.
Now, speaking exclusively to The Mirror, Kit actor Jacob Roberts has teased what impact Paul’s death will have on Kit, and how it might bring more drama to Bernie’s door. Kit and Bernie are yet to fully connect after he was adopted as a baby years ago, while she kept custody of his older siblings.

There was a moment they almost reconnected around 10 years ago but she did not show up. This abandonment has left Kit hurt for years, and the fact he could have had more time with Paul will drive him to hold onto the anger he has for Bernie in the wake of his death.
He told us: “He feels a bit of a fraud with it all. He doesn’t feel like he’s his brother cos he didn’t spend that much time with him, but he could have had time with him if Bernie had told him he had a brother. It’s mixed emotions.”
On how Kit will feel about Bernie after Paul’s death, he told us: “I think he’ll hold onto that resentment with Bernie for the rest of his life, with Paul dying and him being abandoned. He felt he could have had many years with someone, his brother, and he never got to meet the real him.”
Actor Jacob is keen for the feud to simmer on, with it clear Kit won’t be forgiving Bernie any time soon meaning she’s got more trouble coming her way. He said: “I’m loving the fact there’s tension. It is nice to play, I don’t want to be all happy families. I don’t think it should be!”
Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and ITV X.
