Coronation Street star Sydney Martin has been giving a further insight into her growing bonds on the Cobbles as she declared her love for one of her co-stars.

The actress, who plays Betsy Swain in the ITV soap, was seen helping her co-star Cait Fitton celebrate her birthday last weekend as they headed out into Manchester.

Cait, who plays Lauren Bolton in the ITV soap, was celebrating her 23rd birthday, with some of the celebrations including her co-stars. Taking to social media, Cait was seen marking her big day by heading out to celebrity hotspot Menagerie alongside fellow Corrie stars Sydney, Elle Mulvaney (Amy Barlow) and Harriet Bibby (Summer Spellman).

Sydney took to her Instagram Story with a picture of the foursome posting for the camera, which she simply captioned: “#HappyInternationalWomensDay,” alongside a string of pink heart emojis.

She also shared a video from the restaurant as Cait was sung a rendition of ‘Happy Birthday’ with the restaurant staff organising a desert with a candle and said: “This gorgeous girls birthday. Couldn’t do life without you! @caitfitt0n.”

Cait then reshared the post and in view of her own Instagram followers, she said: “I love you so much,” alongside a face holding back tears emoji and a pink love heart.

And while he wasn’t seen in in any snaps on the night, Liam McCheyne, who plays Weatherfield’s Dylan Wilson, made sure to mention Cait’s evening when he shared a sweet message to her on her special day.

Sharing a smiling selfie of the pair, the actor, who recently celebrated his 18th birthday with his twin brother, Connor, wrote on Instagram: “Wishing a very happy birthday to my best friend @caitfitt0n thanks so much for always being there for the both of us.

“Celebrated each others wins, and you’ve always gave me a shoulder to lean on when needed. We’ve cried and laughed (a lot) with countless memories. Hope you have an amazing day.” Cait was quick to respond to the post, writing: “I love you bean @liammccheyne [face holding back tears and red heart emojis].”
