Morley Tea Rooms in Cheshire has been recognised in the Good Food Awards
Morley Tea Rooms, the Cheshire village café overseen by the wife of Corrie favourite Simon Gregson, has nabbed a Good Food Award once again. The snug spot close to Wilmslow bagged a win in the café category of the high-profile culinary event for the second successive year—a mark of consistency rewarded with the coveted Blue Ribbon prize.
Celebrations are in full swing, as Emma took to the establishment’s Facebook page to share the excitement: “We’ve only gone and done it again! Absolutely thrilled to have received the Good Food Award for the second year running.” Her post continued to praise her team and loyal customers, stating, “I have the most amazing staff and customers all of which have now become friends. I honestly can’t thank you all enough for the support you’ve shown me over the last couple of years, I appreciate every single one of you I really do.”
Emma concluded with heartfelt thanks and affection for the local community: “Thank you again for all your lovely support. I love our little community and I’m super proud to be part of such a wonderful ‘family’. See you all soon for a catch up and cake.”
Speaking to the MEN after last year’s win, Emma said: “I’d always said I wanted a café and years ago when Simon and I first met I bought a tea set and said to him ‘one day I’m going to have a tea shop’. Now, 15 years later, here we are, it’s come true.”
“I’ve always been a baker, I bake with the kids and I’ve always found it very therapeutic. But I was nervous at first as it’s a bit different when you start charging for them, but thankfully the reviews have been so lovely.”
Simon, who is often seen lending a hand, chimed in: “Her cooking is amazing, I mean it was like wow, it’s always been next level. I got to be chief taster at the start for the cakes too. I think she’s a feeder.”
Also receiving recognition in this year’s café category was Gourmand in Warrington, which proudly took home a Blue Ribbon prize. The establishment prides itself on being a “little piece of France in Warrington”.

Their Facebook page boasts: “Traditional artisan French bakery/patisserie/coffee shop. One hundred per cent homemade from scratch by us on site, 100 per cent real French food experience. Nothing fancy, nothing trendy, purely traditional French food.”
A spokesperson for the Good Food Awards commented: “The Good Food Awards have delighted readers and fans over the years by introducing them to an eclectic tapestry of flavours. We’ve built up a reputation for shining a spotlight on delicious dishes and unearthing culinary gems.”
“We believe awards should be based on what matters most, customer opinions. Using nominations, feedback, votes, and online reviews we ensure the Good Food Awards reflect the views of real foodies, like you.”
