Coronation Street star Peter Ash says he’s ‘reunited’ as he gets huge boost alongside former co-stars

The actor is best known for having played Paul Foreman on the cobbles for six years

Former Coronation Street star Peter Ash announced he had ‘reunited’ with a number of his ex-castmates as he was given a huge boost months on from his emotional soap exit.

The actor is best known for having played Paul Foreman on the cobbles for six years. He bowed out of the ITV soap back in September, with his beloved character’s heartbreaking death coming 17 months after he was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease, a rare neurological disease that causes weakness and disability that worsens over time.

The hard-hitting storyline saw Corrie work with the help of the MND Association to portray the deterioration of Paul as well as the effect the disease had on his family and friends, including husband Billy Mayhew, mother Bernie Winter, sister Gemma Winter and Summer Spellman.

Since his exit from the cobbles, Peter has been seen starring in panto in Oldham and will soon be back on stage in Peter James’ stage adaptation of Picture You Dead. But he hasn’t always been too far away from the Corrie family as since he left the long-running show, he has picked up a number of awards.

The latest came on Monday evening (February 10) as Peter attended the TV Choice Awards 2025 alongside former on-screen husband Daniel Brocklebank. The pair were joined to represent Corrie by Colson Smith (PC Craig Tinker), Jacob Roberts (DC Kit Green), Vicky Myers (DS Lisa Swain), Sydney Martin (Betsy Swain), Sair Kahn (Alya Nazir), Julia Goulding (Shona Platt) and Jodie Prenger (Glenda Shuttleworth).

Taking to Instagram ahead of the star-studded ceremony, Peter shared a picture of his and Daniel’s name placements on their table and wrote on his Instagram Story: “Reunited again.” It was then alter revealed that the former soap star picked up a piece of silverware on the night.

Alongside a picture of Peter with his award alongside Daniel, Corrie wrote on Instagram: “Congratulations to Peter Ash on his win for Best Soap Performance at last night’s TV Choice Awards! Didn’t everyone look amazing?! @peterash_85 @tvchoicemagazine #Corrie.” Peter also shared the same snap and told his followers: “Successful night at the #TVchoiceAwards,” and the congratulatory messages came flooding in.
