Corrie’s Beth Tinker’s look is worlds apart from the actress who plays her, with Lisa George showing off her incredible healthy weight loss and sleek 60s style outfits
Coronation Street star Lisa George has shared her incredible weight loss, comparing herself to 60s supermodel Twiggy.
Lisa, who plays Beth Tinker in the ITV soap, is usually seen on screen at Underworld, wearing leopard print and denim jackets. The character is currently embroiled in a dodgy side hustle scandal, which could lead to her downfall as she is set to leave the cobbles. But Lisa’s real life style is much different, as she has showcased to followers on her Instagram Story. The actress, 53, can be seen wearing 60s style minidresses that accentuate her tiny waist and slender legs, comparing her style to that of model Twiggy.
In one selfie, she can be seen in a cropped, structured white jacket, captioning her snap: “Pink and cream should be seen.” A second photo shows her in the pink dress and court shoes, writing: “Twiggy style in pink.”
Lisa’s incredible weight loss came after the star started to use a glucose sensor to keep her blood sugar levels in check, while controlling her diabetes and overhauling her diet, after visiting a nutritionist.
She told the Mail earlier this year: “I cut out so much from my diet and am a stone lighter than I was last year. I’m loving the weight I’m at now. I went out on Friday and wore a velvet suit that was a size 10. I have not been in a size 10 since I was 28!”
Lisa joined Corrie as Beth in 2011, initially introduced as Steve McDonald’s love interest, but she went on to marry Kirk Sutherland. Her son Craig (played by Colson Smith ) also joined her on the soap.

But back in December, it was revealed that Lisa had decided to quit the street after more than a decade in Weatherfield. It’s believed Beth’s exit scenes have already been filmed, and will be airing at some point this summer, but no official details about her departure have been shared so far.
She previously opened up about her worsening health, revealing that she could go blind due to suffereing with NAION – non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy. The health condition causes individuals to suddenly lose vision in one eye.
Lisa explained the impact it had on her, praising Coronation Street for supporting her during her vision loss.
She told the Mail: “When it first happened I was so petrified but I can’t worry about what could or couldn’t happen, it’s no way to live. I’ve just got to get on with it. I’ve accepted what has happened.”
But her biggest concern was the “night shoots”, with the star admitting she couldn’t see the edge of the pavement during one incident on set, and another saw her struggle to use the stairs because she has no sight in the peripheral of her left eye.
