His exit scenes will reportedly air later this year.

Coronation Street star Bill Fellows is reportedly set to depart the soap as Stu Carpenter.

The character has been a mainstay of the ITV series since 2021, though will apparently leave the show in a storyline later this year, according to The Sun.

The star plans to move on to pursue other roles as his three-year contract comes to an end, though further details of his exit storyline remain under wraps for now.

Digital Spy has reached out to Coronation Street for comment.

Fellows isn’t the only star who is due to depart the show, with Peter Ash exiting the soap in the coming weeks as his character Paul Foreman’s Motor Neurone Disease (MND) storyline comes to a close.

“We are gearing towards the end of Paul’s story, so it’s going to be sad,” Peter told Digital Spy recently. “It’s something we’re obviously expecting to happen, because there is no cure for MND.

“They’re really emotional scenes, coming to the end of Paul’s story.”

Helen Worth is also due to depart the cobbles as Gail Rodwell after 50 years on the soap, with the star’s exit announced back in June.

“This year felt like the perfect time to leave the show after celebrating 50 years in the most wonderful job on the most wonderful street in the world,” she said at the time.

“I made the decision at the start of the year and spoke to the producers who were very kind and understanding.”

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
