Coronation Street star Alan Halsall has hailed finding an ‘amazing friend’ in Coleen Rooney after their stint in the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here jungle.

The pair became campmates after they appeared in the ITV reality show together at the end of last year. Actor Alan ended up being the seventh campmate to leave the jungle, just behind TikTok star GK Barry, in a double elimination days before the final, which took place in early December.

Meanwhile, WAG and TV personality Coleen ended up finishing in second place in the Ant and Dec-fronted show’s 2024 series, having just missed out on being crowned winner to Danny Jones.

But Coleen and Alan struck up a clear friendship in the jungle and bonded over their Northern roots, with the former hailing from Liverpool and the other hailing from Manchester.

And it was over the weekend that the pair were seen reuniting with their families. Alan and his daughter Sienna, as well as his brother Steve and his children, met up with Coleen, her two youngest sons and her parents.

Sharing a picture to his Instagram Story, Coleen wrote: “Lovely catch up with @alanhalsall and the gang [red heart emoji]. Tony’ getting the Cosmos in next time!! [winking face emoji].”

Alan was quick to reshare the post, writing in view of his own followers: “I can’t wait Tony…” He then added: “Good times, great food, amazing friends,” alongside a red heart emojis.

It comes after Coleen revealed that Alan has been trying to get her a job on Corrie. “Alan is trying to get me behind the bar in Coronation Street,” she previously revealed. “I loved performing arts and acting when I was younger. I always went to drama classes.”

The mum-of-four – whose husband is retired Manchester United footballer Wayne Rooney – appeared as an extra in ‘Hollyoaks’ years ago with a “walk-in part”. Despite enjoying acting, she thinks being in the spotlight means people would struggle to accept her playing a character.

She explained: “I feel like it would be hard to get into the industry. People see me as me, especially after ‘I’m A Celebrity’. If I did a role, I think it would be hard for people to see me as the character.”
