Coronation Street spoilers reveal exit shock, Mason and Joel twist and Tracy return

Coronation Street spoilers have detailed huge twists and turns ahead, from a temporary exit and the return of an ITV soap legend, to more than one worrying discovery

Coronation Street is lining up some big twists and dramatic scenes next week that fans can look forward to.

We will finally see the return of a Weatherfield legend, months on from an abrupt exit that left fans stunned. We will also see a ‘link’ between a villain and a younger baddie that could lead to a dramatic downfall.

There’s another possible twist in the Joel Deering storyline, as his own fiancée Dee-Dee Bailey finally realises something is not right. Also there’s a hospital dash for Toyah Battersby following her cancer diagnosis, which leaves sister Leanne Battersby torn thanks to villain Rowan Cunliffe.

He’s eyeing up his next target and resorting to blackmail once more, while there’s other big scenes ahead too. Let’s start with Rowan, who fears he’s losing his grip on Leanne.

Viewers will know scammer Rowan targeted vulnerable Leanne for his ‘self-improvement’ institute, which he claimed would help her deal with her trauma. She’s been reeled in and has now got Amy Barlow in too.

But with Rowan promoting her and claiming it’s time for her to invest, he’s managed to isolate her from her family at the worst time. Leanne has not been there for her sister after her ovarian cancer diagnosis, and she’s pushing her husband Nick Tilsley closer to Toyah, his sister-in-law.

Both Nick and Toyah are anti-Rowan and want Leanne to wake up and see the truth, but it’s led to friction at home. The time might finally arrive next week though when Leanne has to choose between them.

In a surprising turn of events, Leanne might turn her back on Rowan leaving him stunned and desperate. This puts Nick at risk and Amy also feels the pressure over whether to invest her inheritance or not.

When an opportunity comes up for Leanne to take some time away from the cobbles she could well take it much to Rowan’s disapproval. So will some time away make her finally see what’s been going on? There could be heartache ahead too as Nick prepares to dump Leanne for Toyah!

It comes as Toyah suffers complications after surgery, but will she be okay and how far will Rowan go to stop Leanne? Elsewhere, the game could be up for villain Joel as two characters could be on to him.

Dee-Dee is left alarmed by a discovery that sends her on a little investigation to the flat Joel owns, unaware he’s housing Lauren Bolton there. At the same time, Mason Radcliffe grows suspicious over bruising on pal Betsy Swain’s arms, with him keen to find out who’s caused them.

Joel has harmed Betsy it seems after a run-in coming up on the show, but could Mason figure out Joel’s involvement and end up bringing him down as part of a redemption arc for the teen? As for Dee-Dee, she realises Joel has been lying about a certain piece of jewellery – which fans know is linked to Lauren.

Not only does an email about a Belfast trip spark concern, but when she finds out Joel didn’t really purchase a charm bracelet for his young daughter Maeve after all, leading to his ex Emily warning Dee-Dee about his secret flat, Dee-Dee takes action. Dee-Dee lets herself into Joel’s flat and searches the cupboards convinced he’s having an affair, but what will she find?

Another huge plot next week is the return of Tracy Barlow, months on from her leaving ‘for good’ to be with Tommy Orpington. She’s soon clashing with Cassie Plummer amid her possible romance with Tracy’s ex Steve McDonald.

Tracy claims she’s back for daughter Amy – but is there more to the story? Finally next week Kit Green moves into The Rovers and is urged by dying brother Paul Foreman to fix things with their mum Bernie Winter. Suddenly Paul suffers a breathing scare and Kit’s left panicked, but will he be okay?

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and ITV X.
