Coronation Street spoilers as arsonist uncovered, Rob’s plan begins and Mason’s funeral takes place

There’s also new arrivals in Weatherfield next week

After David Platt found himself arrested for arson following a horrifying blaze at his family home, next week in Coronation Street it appears his wife Shona Platt will find out the real culprit.

As a new week gets underway in Weatherfield, Kevin Webster shows the CCTV footage of the arsonist to Shone and her brother-in-law Nick Tilsley. Shona’s horrified, but quickly covers. What has Shona seen?

At the station, Adam Barlow puts pressure on DC Kit Green to release David, pointing out that they have no evidence to suggest he started the fire. Soon after, Nick apologises to David for suspecting him of starting the fire in the first place.

With David gone, Kit interviews Leanne Battersby and goes over all the evidence which suggests she started the fire. Leanne admits it looks bad, but assures him of her innocence.

Later, PC Craig Tinker reveals that Leanne has yet to be charged because some new evidence has come to light and they’re waiting on forensics.

Meanwhile, former prisoner Andy slips David £2k for his part in the robbery and reveals that he’s got another far bigger job lined up if David is interested, while at the station, Kit reads the report from forensics and is shocked at the results.

At the end of the week, Andy talks David through the details of the robbery, but it’s clear David’s not made his mind up. Meanwhile, Nick has a proposition for David, but what will it be?

Elsewhere, Mandy, the prison guard, collects Rob Donovan from his cell, checks he still wants to go ahead with his plan and kisses him passionately. Having taken a call from the hospital, Carla Connor tells Lisa Swain that Rob has had an allergic reaction to some antibiotics and has been rushed to hospital.

When Carla visits Rob in hospital, Mandy tells Carla that the consultant needs a word with her and as she heads off, Mandy uncuffs Rob. Will Mandy and Rob make a run for it?

Later, Carla is thrown into panic when she receives an email confirming that Rob is a suitable match for the transplant and the operations will take place tomorrow. Carla then visits Rob in prison and drops the bombshell. As things prepare to get underway, the doctor reveals that there’s been a delay with Carla’s operation, she worries Rob is going to back out. Will Rob let Carla down?

Meanwhile, on the street, Tim Metcalfe, Yasmeen Nazir, Dylan Wilson, Betsy Swain, Lisa, Liam Connor and Maria Windass watch as Mason Radcliffe’s coffin is loaded into the hearse. Abi Webster heads over to join them but as she glances around, she quickly leaves again. Abi describes her hallucinations to Dr Gaddas. What will Dr Gaddas say?

Later, Sally Metcalfe accompanies Kevin to his appointment to get his results. When the consultant confirms Kevin’s results and that he needs an operation, he hurries out. Meanwhile, Debbie Webster lets herself in to find something burning in the oven, the smoke alarm going off and Abi suffering another flashback.

Kevin later shares his test results with his son, Jack. When planning to cook a Valentine’s meal for Kevin, Debbie finds Abi panicking and has an idea.

Also on the cobbles, Gemma Winter-Brown’s amused as Lou gives Aadi Alahan a hard time over the price of a pack of night time pull-ups. As Lou recognises her as one of the mums from Bessie Street, she later calls in the pub and persuades Gemma to join her for a drink.

Meanwhile, Chesney returns home with some Valentine’s cakes for Gemma and tells her that he’s convinced he spotted the silver van again. Gemma tells Chesney it turns out Lou and her husband Mick are moving into Mawdsley Street and she’s arranged for them to meet for a drink later. Is this the start of a new friendship for Gemma and Chesney?
