ITV Coronation Street fans are convinced a shock STD storyline is about to rock the cobbles, as a slew of characters are embroiled in a series of saucy storylines

Coronation Street fans are bracing themselves for a shocking storyline involving an STD, which could spell disaster for a well-loved character.

The enduring ITV soap has never shied away from presenting groundbreaking and relevant narratives. From illicit affairs and homicides to the birth of quadruplets, viewers have been captivated by the unfolding drama on the cobbles.

Now, it appears the show is preparing for a startling new twist involving an STD. Recently, there’s been a flurry of relationships beginning and ending on the cobbles.

Daniel Osbourne (played by Rob Mallard) and Bethany Platt (portrayed by Lucy Fallon) have recently weathered a storm in their relationship, following Bethany’s unsuccessful surgery abroad. Despite nearly breaking up, they’ve managed to move forward.

However, unbeknownst to Bethany, Daniel recently had a tryst with his ex-girlfriend Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan). The pair gave in to their mutual attraction and ended up sleeping together at the Rovers Return, reports Plymouth Live.

Daniel was quick to regret his actions, leaving Daisy heartbroken. To add to the drama, she even helped him cover up his reckless behaviour when he drunkenly crashed a car earlier this month.

Eager to move on from Daniel, Daisy is now seeing corrupt police officer and soap newcomer Kit Green (Jacob Roberts), who, unknown to her, had a fling with Shona Platt (Julia Goulding) earlier this month. However, in Friday’s episode (December 20), viewers were taken aback to see Kit in his dressing gown bidding farewell to an unidentified woman he presumably spent the night with.

Daniel saw what went down and told Daisy all about it – leading her to try and get a rise out of Kit. Looks like the trick did the job because, on Monday’s episode (December 23), Daisy and Kit made it official and stepped out for a date.

But with all the partner-swapping antics going on in the ITV drama, viewers are buzzing with the idea of a surprise STD plot twist. On a Corrie Facebook group, reacting to Kit’s recent fling, one fan posted: “He’s kissing everyone at min!”

Another chimed in saying: “You watch, be a story on him getting the clap next.” A third agreed: “That’s what I said. They’re all going to get something.” And yet another said: “They are all going to get sexual diseases!!”
