Coronation Street Sarah Platt ‘set for unexpected new cobbles romance’ but fans are fuming

Coronation Street viewers are convinced that Sarah Platt is going to get a new boyfriend on the cobbles – but there could be uproar

Coronation Street’s Sarah Platt, played by Tina O’Brien, could be in for a surprise new romance on the cobbles, according to fans. Since her first appearance in 1999, Sarah has become a beloved character and has been involved in numerous dramatic storylines, including a teenage pregnancy and various feuds.

She’s also had her fair share of failed relationships, including scandalous affairs and romances with bad boys. This week, things took a deadly turn when the Platt family home was set on fire.

This came after Sarah’s brother David Platt (Jack P. Shepherd) stole money from notorious gangster Harvey Gaskell (Will Mellor). However, it’s suggested that the fire might not have been caused by Harvey or his thugs.

Sarah’s had her faire share of failed romances

Several Weatherfield residents, including David, are now suspects. Amid the latest Platt family drama, Sarah has been left worried. But fans have noticed that she has grown close with Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce), with whom she has a history.

Before Todd came out as gay, they dated in the 2000s, and Sarah even fell pregnant with Todd’s baby, Billy, who tragically died after Sarah went into premature labour in 2004, reports Lancs Live.

Fans are predicting a Todd and Sarah romance

Speculation is growing among Coronation Street fans that Todd and Sarah could reunite. On a Coronation Street Facebook fan page, one fan asked: “Anyone else think that Todd and Sarah might get together? “This sparked a discussion, with one person responding: “Yeah ….. I mean he’s gay but why not .”

Another fan suggested: “Yes, he could be bisexual. However, not everyone is convinced, with one viewer commenting: “I think they’re just really close friends, but you never know. If they U-turned Todd’s sexuality – there will be uproar.”

Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX
