Coronation Street star Sam Aston’s wife has celebrated his Dancing on Ice win with a number of sweet social media posts as she also captured the moment she asked their eldest child to described his dad’s new title.

The actor, who is famed for playing Chesney Brown in the ITV soap, was seen winning the skating competition’s 2025 series on Sunday night (March 9) alongside professional partner Molly Langham

They had made it to the final of the ITV show, hosted by Holly Willoughy and Stephen Mulhern, alongside runners-up Michaela Strachan and Mark Hanretty and third placed Anton Ferdinand and Annette Dytrt.

But Sam appeared visibly shocked as they emerged victorious. Speaking to hosts Holly Willoughby and Stephen Mulhern just after his win was announced, he said: “I’ve literally got no words!”

The soap star was later quizzed on his time on the show by Lorraine Kelly. As she pointed out he looked shocked at his name being announced as the winner, he said: “I think I was!”

He added on her self-titled show: “It’s just so overwhelming and there’s obviously a lot going on so it’s hard to take it all in. It’s been such a journey…”

When Lorraine suggested he needed to go home for a ‘rest’, Sam used the opportunity to heap praise on his wife, Briony. “Yeah and relieve my wife because obviously she’s had to kids so much and I’m really, really thankful. I want to say that to her as well, we uprooted the kids and brought them down to be with us as much as possible…”

He then looked at the camera and with a wave said: “I love you, baby. Thank you so much!” Lorraine replied: “You’re a good man and well done!”

And Briony has been sharing her love and support for her husband. Sharing pictures of him and Molly lifting the Glitterball trophy as well as a glimpse at what happened at the rink after the cameras stopped rolling, she wrote on Instagram: “My husband is the Dancing On Ice 2025 champion.”

She went on to share: “I stressed alot, cheered a f**k tonne and laughed and danced all night so took barely any photos, but what a night! You shone and smashed it again @samaston93 and @mollylanaghanx and performed a GORGEOUS bolero as well as an epic showcase, such deserving winners.

“Thank you @oliviaphillips267 @rpp6505 for the excellent partayyy compan and my lovely sisters who had a sleepover with the kiddos so I could celebrate my man. Back to birthing business now, let’s goooo.”

Among Briony’s post was a video in which the family could be seen heading back home in the car with their belongings packed inside. Their eldest child, Sonny, was holding his dad’s trophy and when asked what Sam was, with Briony encouraging by trying to start the word with a ‘W’, he replied: “A wizard!”

And her followers were quick to respond. @nicmeadows said: “Wooohoooo! GO SAM!” @kirst1503 commented: “Ahhh Briony how wonderful. Well done to Sam! Fantastic achievement!” @healthandfitnesswithjulie wrote: “I saw it, and voted!! Bloody brilliant. Well done team Aston!!.”
